September 2014 Issue of Genii

Mailman just dropped off the Sept. 2014 issue in Minot N.D. David Kaye article is great. I am figuring out a way to avoid the rest of my "honey-to-do" list so I can keep reading this month's issue.

August 2014 Genii Arrived

My August 2014 copy of Genii arrived today in Minot, ND. Max Maven's audio column is priceless (as always). It is very difficult to pick the "best parts" of this month's magazine. But at least for me, Eugene Burgers column and The Tokyo Workshop rate very high on my list. As an amateur woo...

Re: Lodestones

Tom your column is amazing !!! I scan a copy of it and put it in a 3 ring binder, so I can reference all your columns at once. The recent parody of David Kaye was great. The drawer box idea, recently shown, is something I'm thinking about. I'm trying to work on a drawer box routine for my kid's show...

Re: Magic Castle Happenings – The Good Stuff (April 2014)

Thank you Dustin for posting the David Kaye (aka Silly Billy) information. As a kid's show performer, it made me feel very good to see our art recognized by the AMA. Max Maven's text on the plaque is superb. Thanks again.

Re: Anyone having serious problems with the weather?

I live in North Dakota, so my perspective is a little different. It's going to be -20 degrees tonight. No big deal. Re: Genii Magazine

I recently renewed my Genii subscription. I also feel it is the best value in magic overall. Re: Free Shows

I like Michael Ammar's advice. I can't remember where he said it, but it's something like this. (I'm paraphrasing it)

Re: Hack Lines that Magicians Should Avoid

For me, the worst hack line is when a magician says some nonsense, I.E., did you ever wonder about blah, blah, blah and then proceeds to the HACK LINE, "HERE LET ME SHOW YOU." I hate the "HERE LET ME SHOW YOU" line. The reason magicians have to say "HERE LET ME SHOW YOU"...
