Re: Ten-Card Poker

I originally published A MUCH BETTER CHANCE in PERSONAL COLLECTION, which is long out of print. I did it again - for those who don't read the good stuff!! - in SPECIAL EFFECTS, which is currently still available. (I don't re-print anymore; don't want/need to get involved with storage.)

Re: Ten-Card Poker

I was about to suggest that you check out my routine, A Much Better Chance, but most here don't even know about my 10-Card Poker Deal (which I'm told started the "craze" - don't know whether I want to take the credit - or the blame!) originally published in DECK-STERITY, 1967 - I re-wrote ...

How find thread: Best Books of 2015

I really am a terrible computer person. I know there's a thread here titled BEST BOOKS OF 2015. I know 'cause I've posted there. But darned if I can find it now. I just don't know how. Unless it has been deleted. If not; how the heck do I find it?

Okay, I know I'm going to get jumped on for this, but - I'm almost willing to bet that most (if not all) of those listing "best books of 2015" have not read JAW DROPPERS! I'm ready for the forthcoming rants and raves about my immodesty. (Modesty is becoming a drag!)

Quite honestly, Bill, I don't know exactly what the duties of a "moderator" are. If it gives me the power to ban idiots like the troll that made me soooooo angry at the Magic Café, that'd be okay. I think that troll was the "reason" for me being banned; I never was told what that...

Re: What are the best books to find no sleight card tricks?

I've written it so many times, it's redundant. You can do miracles with three basic things - a good control (a force can be considered a control), a good double lift/turnover and a good palm. I don't ordinarily come up with, or write, effects/routines with passes, culls, top changes, seconds/bottom ...

Of course, I'm well aware of the rhythm of the writing. There's no way I'd use, say, "4C" when I know that "four of clubs" maintains the rhythm. It's interesting - so I've been told, anyway - I can't carry a tune in a basket (I was a "listener" as a boy in school!) but ...

Hi Richie: I write out the card's full name when it is between quotes, which is proper. I occasionally do not, when I feel the write-up is already long enough! Trying to save a bit of space. I would tend to doubt very much that ANYONE interested in card magic would not understand AD, 4C, 10S, KH, an...
