Derek Dingle "Fabulous Jumping Card Trick"?

Anyone know if this is written up anywhere? Perhaps "The Complete Works of Derek Dingle"?

Performance at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjPN5uOBX0E

Re: Peanuts for chop-cup routine?

Richard, thanks. It sounds like it would be easier to just
track down someone who makes peanuts for a chop cup. :)

Re: Peanuts for chop-cup routine?

Richard, in the past, I've not been much of a "crafty" DIY person. So, making a magnetic peanut creates some questions, the biggest one: what kind of magnet? How strong? Does it have to be oriented properly to connect to the cup? This was my reason for asking if one was in production. Beca...

Re: Ricky Jay cups?

Yeah, I know. Why did the wrong moniker get attached?

Re: Ricky Jay cups?

Dustin, naturally I've heard of Paul Fox cups since about 5 minutes after getting interested in the cups and balls....but no idea where to buy them. I was under the impression they were no longer made?

Sorry for the rookie question. I ought to know, I suppose.

Ricky Jay cups?

I've got a set of spun-copper Charlie Miller cups that I bought from Magic Inc. years ago and I love them. But, I'd love to have a set with a chop cup included.

Any suggestions of favorites? Anyone know what kind Ricky Jay uses in his cup routine "The History Lesson"?

Decorating with Magic

I work from home and I've never really gotten around to decorating my office since we moved into this house. But, I'm thinking decorating with magic will be a nice way to personalize my area. I'm thinking about framing some of the older posters and magic advertisements....but I was wondering if you ...

Re: Han Ping Chien move

Richard, I guess I need to see it in action because that description sounds pretty much like what I've seen. It's the crossing over and "slapping" motion that doesn't seem to be a natural move. If you're holding two hands in front of you with coins in each hand...and you wanted to show tho...

Han Ping Chien move

Is it just me? Or does anyone else feel that this move is unnatural looking? I'm a huge Slydini fan and God knows I'd never presume to know more about magic and misdirection than he or many of the other greats. But, even when I see Slydini do this move, it just looks hurried. And with the proximity ...

Magic Castle June 29-July 1?

Hey guys - I wasn't sure if this was the best place to put this but couldn't find a more suitable place. I'm going to be in Hollywood from Mon-Wed (June 29-July 1) next week and will be staying at the Hotel Roosevelt, about a block from the Magic Castle. I'm not a member of the Castle but was wonder...

Re: DVDs or Books?

LOL -- you bring up a good point. When video moves from DVD to another medium, you've gotta wonder what our solution will be. (Especially since many DVDs are protected from being converted to video files.) For instance, when L&L Publishing released Ammar's Cups and Balls Vols 1 & 2, they wer...

DVDs or Books?

Confession: I'm a bit of a book snob. I won't go so far to say that my wife and I are book "collectors". Or bibliophiles. But we do have at least two leather-bound books a week coming from Easton Press....we do own multiple copies of the Lord of the Rings in various formats....and both our...

Re: Vanishing Inc. Magic - a new website

I just picked up "High Spots" and "Holy Blank" -- they have a bundle deal where you get both for $30 if you buy them together. (I think it's a $10 savings or something). Andi, I'm extremely impressed with the site. From a web-design standpoint, it's very clean, intuitive and easy...

Hoo boy. Just found an incredible-looking bag. Pro, semi-pro or hobbyists....I'm having a hard time not buying this. I think it would be perfect for cups/balls, cards, etc.:

I wonder if I can justify this if I buy my wife a new purse at the same time? ;)

A tip for carrying/storing cups and balls

This might not be an earth-shattering tip but hopefully it'll be of service. It was to me. When I first got interested in magic back in the early 90s, I saw a lot of the guys in the magic store who brought in their cups/balls in a cloth bag with a drawstring. This seemed to be the most common method...
