Re: Become a Magic Book Publisher! The SEQUEL: Rosenthal Coi

Ian Kendall wrote:...I wonder if Tomas would license his photo - line art software?...

If you are conversant with Photoshop, there are several 'actions' in the community that convert a photo into a pencil line drawing. I'm not sure whether this is something similar to Tomas', but it might be worth trying.

Re: The Digital Issue of Genii is Now Available to Subscribe

Brian Hebert wrote:... I think 6 was back a few months.

Yes, it might be a typo since part 6 was in the March issue column (the theory of gestalt in magic). This, however, does not detract from Roberto's excellent suggestions in the current column.

Re: Greatest magic books ever written

Is it possible you are refering to "Millenium reflections", which appeared in the 2001 January issue? On page 48 you'll find Jamy Ian Swiss' list under "A millennium of magic literature". There are also lists of illusions —Jim Steinmeyer's "Ten best illusions of the 20th cen...

... was the 8 of spades named by one of the spectators before the reveal of the 1st part or just the position of the 8 of spades? Well, the wording plays an important role in the performance. Re: Great Trailer for Spanish TV Show The Magicians

With just four episodes broadcasted, the show has been cancelled due to poor audience share figures. Although it started with a promising 11.7%, the audience share dropped to 6.9% on October 4th.

Detailed information is given in this wiki link (text in Spanish).

Re: Second Dealing Effects?

"Call to the colors" is a lovely effect that relies entirely on the second deal. Whilst there are many versions, I'm biased towards Ascanio's "Alternating the colors" which is a good example of clever construction and routining. As it is often stated in the magic literature, the ...

Re: Is There A Name For This Sleight?

Hi Marty,

It looks like you are referring to Daryl's "rising crime display" sequence. If so, you can find an explanation in "Subtle card creations, volume 1" but there might be some earlier explanations published.

The last Genii Magazine issue featuring 112 pages was the February 2009 one. From that date onwards, issues have been either 96 (most likely) or 104 pages long. It seems that the total number of pages is always a multiple of 8.
