Re: Carney Theater Show in Seattle area
I'll be there! It's been quite a few years since I hosted you at my former place, Illusionz Magical Entertainment Center in Issaquah. Looking forward to seeing you again! Will Mr. Mysto be making an appearance?

Various Items for Sale
I'm slowly going through a bunch of old stock I have from 10+ years back. This round: Tenyo items and card collections. All the Tenyo items are new, unopened. I have multiples of some, singles of most. Payment is via Paypal, and shipping is additional (actual shipping cost, no markup). T-20 Cubio $1...

Re: Best rising card gimmick?
Don't feel stupid. In addition to the "parts" for the trick, you're also getting insight into the performance of it, and supporting the magician who created it. Plus, this one isn't very expensive anyway. Good luck with it!

Re: Performance Logistics For My Christmas Show?
Hi Bill, I was wondering what you ended up settling on for your Christmas show. I wanted to second sponge balls for "strolling" magic, as kids (and adults) love it when the magic happens in their hands--it's pretty powerful. Sponge balls are easy to carry from table to table as well. I hop...

Re: Best rising card gimmick?
Kundalini rising, hands down (well, actually, hand up for those who know the routine). There is nothing like the magic happening in the audience member's hands, with the magician standing nowhere near. Extra points for the ability to use a borrowed deck, but not critical. More extra points for allow...

Re: How much does the average Magician make annually?
In reference to your comment "I sure don't want to do 600 birthday shows a year for 60K"--I know it's a made up number, but it brings up the issue of what to charge for a show. If you are charging $100, you're not charging nearly enough for a birthday show--put together a great show, charg...

Re: Blue & Golds
If you do cub scout blue & gold banquets, or any type of show for cub scouts, check out Mike Bent's "Nutty Neckerchief" routine. It comes with custom neckerchief silks that are hilarious (a shrunken one, a "mixed up one", a reverse color one, and one in pink). You start off b...

Re: How to control children
Bringing an old post back, but thought I would share how I start out my shows after my initial introduction. I wouldn't call it "controlling" kids, but rather setting things up for a successful show. First off, I use what looks like yellow police crime tape as a line on the ground in front...

Re: Give away/souvenir ideas for kids
My giveaway for all the kids is a cartoon coloring sheet picture of me and my rabbit that I had done at Kidabra a few years ago. It has my name and website on it. Cheap to print on my own laser printer whenever I need extras. I also licensed one of the magic books out there for resale, added some ba...
