Re: Tom Stone: Runes of Tomorrow

Let me get this straight.

Low production cost, rehashed versions of old, other peoples' routines and a bonus insult/sucker effect, but it must be good, because Matt Field says so, and Tom Stone put it together?

Hi folks, I posted this on a UK forum, and I thought I'd add it here for anyone nearby who might be interested Tony Strange and myself have been talking about forming a new society in our area, and Tony last week had a half page feature in the Grantham Journal and set the ball rolling. Tony lived about 15 minutes away from me. I often used to see him in the Woolpack pub in Long Sutton. We never talked about Mentalism or Magic. His big interest was horse racing (and gambling in general).

He was unique, to say the least.

Michael Caine is known for, and often parodied because of, the phrase "My name is Michael Caine, and not a lot of people know that." I heard a story, which may or may not be apocryphal, about him being interviewed on the radio a few years back (I think it was BBC Radio 2), and he was asked...

Why is hacking your DVD software illegal, Richard? Surely you are entitled to alter software that you have bought and paid for in any way that you like, as long as it's for your own use. Surely that is like saying it's illegal to alter the factory settings on your car stereo, or to change the temper...

Over here in the UK, there's a guy dressed as Spiderman, dangling from a crane over Tower Bridge as a protest against not being allowed to see his daughter for 8 months.

He's getting far more positive publicity (and causing more uproar) than Blaine did.

The issue is NOT, I repeat NOT the temperature of the coffee.

The issue is who was at fault for spilling it!

The woman was not forced to drink, or even buy, the coffee. She made the choice.

McDonalds are not at fault.

I domn't care if the coffe was 155 or 1550 degrees, the woman chose to drink it in a moving vehicle, which makes her responsible for spilling it. McDonald's provide a seated area for the consumption of their products. While the woman could have taken up a stationary eating position, which would mini...

My father's Jamaican. They all moved to the States and the UK, mainly to get away from the rising culture of violence.

Stick to the hotels and tourist resorts, and avoid the streets is the impression I get.
