Cruise Ship Info, Please

I had read in either Genii or Magic, a while ago, that there was a cruise ship that had a theater based in magic, but I don't remember the line or ship. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Cafe Edison closing

Did the cafe close? I visited last year at this time and had a great time! If it did close, is there a new daily meeting spot? I'm on the train to NYC at this moment, and would like to gather with other magi. Unfortunately, I won't be able to meet Saturday with the group that used to meet on the str...

Magic Catalogs

I always enjoyed looking through the old Tannen, Abbott, and Hank Lee catalogs. Are there any dealers who currently publish a print catalog, other than the generic Robbins offering? For me, online just doesn't match the experience. Thanks!

Re: Ricky Jay's Congress of Wonders

I haven't been to a magic conference for several years, but have been to science teacher conferences often. There, larger supply companies offer workshops utilizing there materials. In this way, teachers get to try materials / experiments instead of just hear about them. What would happen if Murphy'...

Plays or Musicals that can contain magic

I am searching for plays / musicals that contain, or that can logically contain magic. Of course there is "The Magic Show", as well as magic effects in "Godspell" and "Carnival". I am looking for a possible show that can be a high school presentation with magic props po...

Newton's Nightmare has a cool looking blue tube and the metal plug visibly slows down going through it vs. a regular speed when gravity grabs hold. Great trick yet no color change.

Demonstrator's Dream

Hello!

I am trying to source the Demonstrator's Dream books by Lex Zaleta. I found them on a cached version of Micky Hades site, yet there was no current site. If anyone would care to remark about the books, or where they might be found, it would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Re: Lou Tannen - Memories

Did Mike Tannen own a magic shop nearer Central Park? If so, it doesn't seem as mentioned as Lou and Irv's shop. Did magicians "hang"at Mike's, like at Lou's? Did Mike ever work with his brothers? Wasn't Mike's shop called TheCircleMagic Shop? I think I barely remember passing it as a kid....

Doug Henning, Tom Bosley, Little Nemo

Hello! I am attempting to put together a revue show for high school students to perform and would like to include some "interesting" "camp skit" type pieces. One that I remember was the Little Nemo man made of two people, one behind the other, where one person is the head and leg...

Tony Spina Magic Jubilee

I am interested in going to Tony's Jubilee in Fishkill, hoping it is reminiscent of the old Tannen Jubilees. I saw ads then nothing. Does anyone have any information on if its really going to happen? The venue? A larger performer's list? Any info would be appreciated.

I, too, have read the book and it IS quite wonderful. I saw them once on Broadway in "The Wonder House". It was a terrific show that was composed of old vaudville acts brought back by Billy Barty. I'm glad I didn't wait to see it as, even though I loved it, critics stated, "It's a won...

Re: House of Magic has closed

Hi! Was in SF last year and went to a magic shop by bus that was somewhere between Fisherman's Wharf and Exploratorium. It was right on the street and no kids were allowed in without an adult. Was this HoM or Misdirections? The owner and assistant were very helpful once they knew I knew magic. Tom

Does anyone know of information available for pitch selling? I'm looking for other items than Svengali Decks, Squirmmels, Fuzzles. Re: Magic In Education

A few colleagues and I were awarded a grant to teach aspects of science by using magic. It also incorporated writing, problem solving, story telling, etc., as students had to devise and present their own magical creation based upon a science concept. I must say that it worked quite well. I don't pos...

Slydini on Video

Hello,

Does anyone know if there is any available tape (or DVD) of Slydini performing. I have two Dick Cavett shows that I purchased on eBay, but quality is not "crisp". Has Cavett ever released the shows to the community?

Thanks!

Tom
