Re: Eddie Fechter's Magic at the Forks Hotel

Mr. Lelekis No insult taken. As I stated, My Karl Norman opine was based on my interpretation based on your ad. IE: Eddie Fechter - Magic at the Forks Hotel, followed by a list of tricks, including Card on Ceiling. The e-book does indeed clarify that Eddie never did it. However, I have now read your...

Re: Eddie Fechter's Magic at the Forks Hotel

Hi Q
Yes. Joe's Balloon work really was ground breaking. He wasn't very good with the pen (not that I am) so I did him a favor. As good as he was with balloons, he was that much more amazing with his pickpocket act.

Re: Eddie Fechter's Magic at the Forks Hotel

You are correct. Ed did come up with the bit, for Karl. But it was Karl who then made it his own. And Ed never really did anything with it,other than give it to Karl. I'm not lashing out, as you indicate. And yes, I do have performing experience. I'm an old man, which is to say that I have performed...

Re: Eddie Fechter's Magic at the Forks Hotel

Sir:

You are misinformed. The Sucrets line you mention was not Eddie's. It was from Karl Norman's routine. It was actually Karl, not Eddie, who made Card on Ceiling synonymous with the Forks.

I don't have your ebook, but by the trick titles, all the itmes are in the Mentzer book.

Re: Tim Conover Has Taken His Life

Tim was 17 when he showed up at the Forks Hotel one Friday night back in the 70's. Through the years I continued to admire his passion for magic and his honest soul. The news of his death is crushing. Tim called Mark Phillips, Bill Goldman, Himself and me, the "Junk Yard Dogs." We lost the...

Re: Book of the Month: Fechter: The Magic of Eddie Fechter

Wow. Great to read all your comments about Eddie. One never realizes the special moments as much as in reflection. Skinner, Dingle, Okal, Lou and Mike Gallo, so many talented people all influenced by those days at the Forks with Eddie and Karl Norman.
