Re: Phase 1, Phase 2, ....

I think Brad is right on the money. The original question relates to multi-phase routines and there tendency to bore. You can get away with very little in the way of motivation for a single phase routine (as Blaine does), but for longer routines and sets of routines more thought is required. Simply ...

Re: Paul Wilson's amazing card dealing act.

It is a great routine, I agree. My advice if you want to perform a similar routine is to just keep studying. You shouldn't try to copy a routine like this beat for beat. When you know enough about false deals and cards in general, you'll know what's happening when you watch this.

It should really be routined in such a fashion that you are not really holding out. There should be no period of time when you hold the load and nothing happens. The cup is picked up, the cup is set down, and the load has happened. Check out Bob White's DVD on the cups and balls if you are really in...

In my opinion, in a study using one hundred students and a fifty-fifty choice of computer screens the 3% is well within range for calling it random. Brad, I absolutely believe he got the results as stated. There doesn't seem to be any reason to fake a statistically insignificant amount of the results. The real problem is that these are classified as results at all.

What JT is trying to get at is that a good hypothesis is falsifiable. There is not even the beginning of a notion of a mechanism for the transmission of "esp". This wouldn't be so bad if there were any documented case of it ever, but this seems beyond the reach of the supposed experts of t...

I love that sybil is listed as a basic requirement. Are we talking basic when I started or fundamental to what I do now? Basic to a beginner would be simple card controls like a double undercut, a good force, a good double lift, and maybe a false cut or two. If we are talking fundamentals then THE P...

Magick is defined best by Crowley (who added the k) as any act of true will. This definition points to the fact that the will, if it does exist, violates causal determinism.

I agree Goat. He seems very fidgity. Also, I have never understood the idea of having a spectator shuffle a deck, then the performer openly removes cards from it face up. This he does so he can remove cards openly and cull some. She shuffled for a couple of minutes too.
