C4 - Amazing new visual magic

Just saw Jonathan Levit's new color changing card case that he calls C4. If you really had a card case that could change color, I'm guessing this is what it would look like. Great effect. Check it out here: http://www.jonathanlevit.com/c4.html and I see you can save 20% for the next couple of weeks....

Re: Mike Caveney's new book

Was happy to see Justin Willman perform The Nailed Card (minus the nail coin) from Mike Caveney Wonders on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno this past week. He got a great response under conditions that were not ideal for magic. You can find the spot on YouTube. It's always nice to see something you've...

Re: Carney 2013

I knew that John was offering a year-long series of teaching videos and finally got around to checking them out. I just watched a master class on the Egg Bag, Cups & Balls, Cards Across, Silk Dying, Linking Rings, Ambitious Card and Card to Wallet. At first I thought that this was the entire yea...

Re: Mike Caveney's new book

Great posts one and all. Those are good arguments both pro and con regarding performance-only DVDs. As far as videos of the Conference Illusions go, we do have a camera in the back of the room just so we have a record of what happened but the show is produced (and lit) for the live audience. Therefo...

Re: Mike Caveney's new book

Just when I thought this thread was dead it springs back to life thanks to a thoughtful post by N.C Marsh. I didn't mean to give you a punch to the solar plexus. I was hoping it would be more like a tap on the shoulder. My hope was never that every buyer would add my silver ware and chicken routine ...

Re: Mike Caveney on the Tonight Show

I can answer all of your questions. The segment comes on about 15 minutes into the show. I did do the Coffee Juggling although it is a stripped down version. I'm not really an act, just some goon who can do something weird. I didn't drop the hoop Richard and Betty White claimed to be delighted so I'...

Re: Mike Caveney's new book

To spend all those years working on a set of books and then read Eric Mead's Genii review of my effort in the current issue is very rewarding. I was pleased to see that he singled out many of the points that were most important to me. Like the journey is more important than the destination. How most...

Thanks all around. First to RIchard Kaufman for the great cover story in Genii and to Dustin Stinett for writing the story. Both were a pleasure to deal with and Liz did a wonderful job of laying it all out. Thanks to Brent Geris over at The Magic Apple for inviting me to the 10th anniversary of his...

Re: Mike Caveney's new book

I'm looking forward to the Magic Castle Perk on Wednesday evening at 8:00. Rob Zabrecky will be conducting the interview with hopefully some good questions from the audience too. I've prepared a Slide show of some of my favorite photos from the books. I'll have plenty of book sets on hand and a free...

Re: Jarrow by David Charvet

Received my copy of David Charvet's new book on Jarrow and read it straight through. If you have David's other book on Jarrow don't think that you don't need this one. The story of how this new edition came about is nearly as interesting as Jarrow's life story. I so enjoyed it that I am going to hav...

Re: Mike Caveney's new book

I've been suffering for 3 weeks while the shipment of my new books was held hostage in Customs, afraid that I wouldn't get them until after Magic Live ended. But alas, they arrived today, 9 tons on 16 pallets. I have to say, it is a bit over whelming. But now, let the fun begin. Only 5 more days of ...

Re: Chang Jr.: RIP

Last Saturday I spoke at Albert's funeral at Forest Lawn in Glendale. The family let me know how much that night at the last LA ...

Re: Mike Caveney's New Book

Steve, don't eat the chicken yet. The books have been trapped in Customs down in Long Beach for over two weeks. They are suppose to be released this week but they seem to make up the rules as they go along. I'll post more info as it becomes available.

Turns out I'm waiting too. The books have been trapped in Customs for over two weeks. They are so close yet so far away. I'm hoping they arrive soon. If not this week then panic will slowly start to set in. Fingers crossed.

Re: Mike Caveney Book Signing at Magic Castle

OK, I'm busted. I decided to produce a special edition that contained an original old letter that was tipped into the book in it's original envelope. These letters were between 50 and 100 years old. Answer to Donal.
It's impossible to know how many and how fast books will sell in Louisville. I will have copies at the MAGIC Magazine booth and if you find me before David Ben's lecture on Vernon (Tuesday night I believe) you will surely get one.
See you there.

Word from Harry Anderson is that he and Elizabeth stayed in New Orleans during the storm. They are OK and, amazingly, so is his shop and Oswald's, his new night club.
