I convert many of my DVD's to digital format and stream to my iPad or tv. I usually use handbrake (or similar program) on the Mac to rip the DVD's and often will also create a disk image of the entire DVD using Disk Utility on the Mac. Performer- You are describing your process which totally jives with cold reading and, by the way, with artistic creation. So you may be more of an "artist" than you'd like to admit and from what you describe, despite not realizing, performing cold reading. Einstein once said: "The gre...

I must say that I derived great amusement by your phrase "those in the know". That is because "those in the know" DON'T know! I have seen more tosh about the methods of psychics written for magicians by people who haven't the slightest idea what goes on. It really is the blind l...

Performer: Wow--My brain is spinning from some of your arguments. I hope to address them respectfully: First, you argue that we are not doctors so neither of us can really determine what's legitimate and what's quackery. This presents quite a fallacy, given that there are also medical doctors that p...

Incidentally, this reminds me that a lot of nonsense is spouted in books for magicians about so called "cold reading". Virtually all of them self righteously emphasise that a reader should always tell a client to see a doctor if they have medical issues. Performer- the problem is that whe...

The Savoy was/is a high-end hotel in London. The only record I can find of Einstein being there was from an article in the Times of London from 1930 for a dinner in support of the Jews of Eastern Europe. Koran was only born in 1917, so I'd guess the meeting would have had to occur after WWII. A 9/1...
