Re: Trying to find the Bob Farmer Magicana trick

Thanks, Steve, for locating "Upside Down Logic" for me! It's a great trick and I didn't want to lose track of it.

Trying to find the Bob Farmer Magicana trick

I have lost track of the Bob Farmer card trick from the Genii issue a few months back. It was a transposition of Kings and Aces and used the Elmsley Count (are we surprised that Bob used the Elmsley Count?). I must have misplaced the issue of "Genii" that it was in, as I can't find it. Any...

Re: Web location for Marko's "A Colorful Routine"?

The Lybrary.com site seems to list only material that comes at a cost. The routine I'm looking for was a free download, found in a list of archived back issues. I can't seem to come up with any freebies on the Lybrary.com site. Any other suggestions would be appreciated!

Web location for Marko's "A Colorful Routine"?

A few years ago I downloaded a (free) routine in which colored silks were put in water in a teapot and the same-colored liquids were poured out. It was by Marko and was called "A Colorful Routine". As I remember, it was from an online "newsletter" and I found the routine in a bac...

Re: Missing move in "LuLu Lemon"?

Phil,

You're right about the inner right corner not working out. I correct this by crimping the outer left corner at the beginning. Then everything works fine.

Re: Black Sharpie/Red Ink -- What trick is this?

Thanks, Neil, but I don't think that's what I'm looking for. In the trick I remember, not only was a Black Sharpie/Red Ink pen used, but also a regular Black ink Sharpie.

Black Sharpie/Red Ink -- What trick is this?

What trick is it that uses a black Sharpie pen and has a red ink cartridge inside it? I made one up a while ago and have since lost track of its name or location. Was it in a "Magicana" section in Genii?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Missing move in "LuLu Lemon"?

The directions for "LuLu Lemon" (Sept., Genii issue) seem to be missing a move. The first part of the effect says to riffle down the deck about 15 cards and then "turn these cards face up onto the deck and outjogged..." The magi is next to "remove the face-down card (the cri...

Looking for Derek Dingle's Ace Assembly

Somewhere in the Genii material (on the Forum, in a past issue, etc.) I remember seeing an ace assembly by Derek Dingle, but I now can't locate it. Any assistance in directing me to it would be appreciated! Thanks!

Re: Rope scissors

I have a related "rope scissors" question. I need a scissors with plastic blades for "cutting" the rope in the moving knot rope trick. I've seen tiny children's scissors that have plastic blades, but none that are larger in size. Has anyone run across this item?

Ever heard of this "Tubes and Blocks" trick?

Does anyone know of a trick using two wooden tubes and three blocks with the same effect as Stratosphere? The red block is placed in the longer tube after the other two colored blocks are placed in it, but the red one appears on the bottom. This happens twice more. Then the red block is placed in th...

Re: Chris Capehart

I saw Chris perform for the Joplin, MO, magic group a few years ago. Having brought my old "New Stars of Magic" copy of his linking ring routine for him to autograph, I knew his crash link, but was open-mouthed in amazement when he did it right in front of my face and I couldn't "catc...

Multiplying Candles?

Has anyone marketed a multiplying candles effect, similar to multiplying golf balls (perhaps with the candles hinged to open apart to show multiple candles)? I've never seen one online or in a catalog, but was wondering if anyone had ever heard of such a thing. Or, has it ever been described in a bo...

Re: Shimmed expanded half dollar shell?

A follow-up on Daytona Magic. They can put a shim in an expanded shell to provide a magnetic shell. However, they told me that because their shell edge is not quite as "tall" as a regular coin edge, the covered coin edge would show slightly. So -- you pays yer money and you takes yer chanc...

Re: Shimmed expanded half dollar shell?

Thanks, Gardini, for the word about Daytona Magic. They, do, indeed, say that they can provide it (for $35.00), and that it is a SASCO product. That's really interestisng to me since SASCO is a standard magic supplier and none of the other magic stores I called said they new about such a product. Wh...

Thanks, Scott, for the source. My problem is that I'm not willing to spend the big bucks for this item from this (top quality) provider. I may have to stick with my current (not-so-wonderful) shimmed shell.

But I'm open to suggestions from anyone else.

Shimmed expanded half dollar shell?

I'm looking for a shimmed (magnetic) expanded half dollar shell and can't seem to find any listed in the magic stores. I have glued some shim material to the inside of an expanded shell but don't like the "rise" that results, exposing a bit of the edge of the covered half dollar. Does anyo...
