Dustin, so I shouldn't predispose to know what Alana was thinking because I haven't talked to her, but you get to know the mind of the woman with the large (and laughed at) chest? And Hannigan as well? HahaHoHo! - it's so very funny when male magicians make sex jokes about female volunteers breasts!...

Yeah, I kept waiting for a magician's fooler, like pouring liquid from all the bottles, or some such miracle.
And, by the way, that guy was fine, but I recently saw Carl Mercurio perform his version of the trick, which was funnier and smoother.

I knew someone would pull out the old, "she can hold her own in the "good ol' boy club" excuse. Way to keep the cringe-worthy and inappropriate cliches of magic going! Hey, she's played fictional characters in R-rated movies. She can hold her own against the ol' boys' sexist remarks! ...

Fool Us - Season 3

New season with new host Alyson Hannigan, and sadly she's subjected to two of stage magic's worst enduring attributes: sexism and suckerism. First there was Shawn Farquhar's cheesy remark that if she was to hold the book close to her chest, "it just makes the book happy." Ugh. I heard the ...

Re: New P&T Magic Set

Nice to see Teller talking with Genii again. I'm happy Richard loves the new magic set. While I agree with many of the compliments he bestows upon the set, I still stand by my criticisms that I pointed out earlier: - No deck of cards when there is a full booklet of card tricks. - The card booklet is...

Was presenting a Tenyo trick as something out of a box, received in the mail, reading off instruction cards, etc. in the Burger book? Was it a Brad henderson idea? I don't know, I'm just asking. Pretty good presentational idea though. He states that the "... main tenet of this site [is] that re...

I assume it was the Letterman people who came up with the moniker, "The Discount Magician," which incidentally, I notice does not appear anywhere on Kamarr's web site. I guess it's unsurprising that Kamarr would want to drop Discount Magician (or maybe that "character" belonged t...

I also wonder about the lack of a deck of cards. Was that a conscious decision? I can understand not having a trick deck, but no deck at all to go with the 125 card trick Marshall booklet?

Maybe Genii's upcoming item about the set will have the answers.

I contacted Royal Magic and said they would provide the new videos with proof of purchase (order number).
That's fine, but I wonder why they released the set without the P&T videos in the first place, or even a note saying the videos would be available later. Nothing on the website either.

I do not know how the P&T set compares, but it has to be better than that one. It's the not worst set in the world. It's just average, which is a disappointment I guess because it's P&T. I was hoping they could pull off a "Pee-Wee's Playhouse," where it was fun for kids and adults...

Some magicians seem to be running away from the idea of being seen as a magician, at least in the traditional sense. In the close-up realm, it's fashionable for miracles to just seem to happen, impromptu-like. They argue that magic best occurs in a natural setting, with everyday objects, during a ca...

I think that few lay people—even the ones who love stage magic—wish they could perform magic on stage. At least you are getting the credit for being skillful. I thought the point was for the spectator to be fooled and enjoy the experience. Who cares if they think you are skillful or not. I love impromptu pocket magic, but I don't understand some people's insistence (http://www.thejerx.com/blog/2016/3/14/project-slay-them) that it should be done only with everyday objects.
