Re: Pure Magic

I'm so glad to find this discussion re: Star Gate-Parallax. I'm trying to find out where I came across using a coin in conjunction with the folded card. I'm relatively certain it came from the UK, but it's all a bit blurred in my mind. Any help would be appreciated.

NEW MAGIC

Hello all I've added some NEW items to my website that may be of interest. They are my newest creations. ONE FOR THE MONEY By Bill Goldman Picture this: A spectator is given a deck of cards or uses his own. He is instructed to shuffle them and select a card while the magician stands on the other sid...

Re: The Kenner Myth Vanish???

This is like the telephone game. I know Chris's final vanish and I think that this is hilarious talk with one misquote piled onto another.

Re: Blaine book

I went to David's book signing in Coral Gables Florida the other night and talked briefly with him. The line was about 400 people long, a mixture of adults and children. A funny exchange occurred between us, but without doing the "voice," it wouldn't come across in type. The book? It looks...

magic 4 sale

I don't know if this is the place to post this-- the tricks are not antiques-- but my original magic is available from ME at bgmagic.com. Keep an eye on my site; I'm introducing a new book soon on PERFORMING magic. It's a how-to book and if you like my kind of magic, you'll like my kind of performin...

Re: K.L.?

I fly quite a bit, and I think that the machines are only as good as the people that use them. In the end, you really only have to fool the people. I've seen security guards talk about lunch breaks or other important issues and divert their attention elsewhere when they should have been doing their ...

Re: Bill Goldman Travelling Tales

I'm back! Sorry for the delay in answering. First, the travel questions... That is a tough one to answer because if the business stays as slow as it is now, it is a moot point. And if we bomb Iraq with OUR weapons of mass destruction, I think all the magicians will have to find new jobs. Sorry, I co...

Re: Bill Goldman Travelling Tales

Let's try this again. 9/11 all but killed a troubled venue. Joel Bauer is probably the busiest and best of what is left. Billy Harris says he's not a magician, so we'll leave him off the list. I don't think it will ever be the venue it was before. I recently performed at the Design Automation Confer...

I wrote a long answer but only my greeting seemed to be posted. Perhaps I did something wrong, but I can't imagine what!

Re: Is Martin Lewis in your mailbox yet?

I received mine yesterday in excellent condition. I'm referring to the content, of course. The magazine itself was rolled up to fit in the mailbox. The Martin Lewis article was terrific.

September issue

Is the Sept. issue coming soon? For me, it signals the start of the trade show season and this summer has been awfully slow. Richard, send Sept. Genii early so I can get back to work!

Little Bunny's Card Trick

I posted something earlier about my new trick, but I received a letter from a friend that says it better. He in turn sent the letter to the EG, but since he also sent it to me, I think it doesn't break any secrecy rules. I want my Genii friends to get a chance to buy this too. This is what he wrote....

Re: Bill Goldman Travelling Tales

Richard wrote... It would be far worse if you LOOKED like Sally Field at the Oscars. Little Bunny is coming ... Bill--why don't you tell everyone on the forum about Little Bunny? --------------- I don't know if this is the place or somewhere else, but if you are reading this thread you'll be the fir...

Re: Bill Goldman Travelling Tales

I don't want to sound like Sally Field at the Oscars, but it sure feels good for a writer or performer to know that people are enjoying your work. Writing for Genii is a labor of love and your feedback sure fuels the fire. Thanks.

Re: The Opposite-Hand Strategy

Your spectator was following the directions of another "masked magician," and since it was a close-up situation, you have the possibility of talking to him and redirecting his perspective. Then you can misdirect him. That sounds a bit convoluted, but you might explain that a magician is NO...

Re: Gaetan Bloom's Intercessor

Thanks. Bar & Grill #8 is so close to being done I can taste it. The problem I have now is too much material for one issue. Also, the paper is in storage and hard to get to. Email me and I'll tell you about my newest..."little bunny's card trick" It's finally done and ready to ship (on...

Re: Gaetan Bloom's Intercessor

I have used the gimmick in a walk around situation where there were signed cards all over the ceiling-- it was in a magic bar. I came up with a reason to tear the card carefully and tipped away from the spectator. I ask someone to name a state in the US they have never visited. Let's say Iowa. I tak...
