Re: Looking for a multi-phase mis-made ...

If you don't mind doing some "making" the entire effect could be accomplished with colored gift-wrapping tissue paper. Start with three sheets: red, white and blue. Tear red and white, dropping blue "accidentally", and so on. You'd have to make the tissue paper flags yourself, b...

Re: Looking for a multi-phase mis-made ...

Perhaps one of those torn and restored newspapers where you can pack two restorations - the second one done after you pick up the piece or two that accidentally fell - or you produce a mismade paper? Interesting thought Jonathon - thanks. I don't know of any that allow that. Can anyone give me a na...

Re: Looking for a multi-phase mis-made ...

Thanks for the suggestions - but I was hoping to stay away from silks ... even when in "flag" form they are a bit "magic prop" for this audience.

Bank notes (large) - newspapers - books - etc. I can get away with but ...

Looking for a multi-phase mis-made ...

I'm looking for something similar to a mis-made flag with at least three phases.

The main requirements are that it needs to

a) Play for a 100 person audience

b) Not involve any "magic" props (e.g. crystal tube)

Any suggestions?

Re: Sense of Smell

Thanks - I knew I'd read one somewhere. I wasn't that keen on the Wakeling routine at the time I read it but now that I have a framework in which I need an effect of that nature it may "gell" for me. The Steinmeyer routine too may lead me in the right direction - his stuff is always so bea...

Sense of Smell

I'm looking for an effect related to the sense of smell. I can see using variants of a number of standard effects including the hidden blade/nail type of thing but I can't come up with anything that would play as strongly as I would like. This is mostly in a corporate environment - audiences of 40 -...

Re: Visiting London UK

Thanks Quentin, that's a useful site to know about. There doesn't seemt to be much going on in the timeframe I'm looking at (a week earlier, a week later ... sigh) - however it is a great resource and will help me plan the timing of future visits!

Visiting London UK

I'm going to be in London for a few days at the end of this week (Weds Nov 30th - Fri Dec 2nd), not a lot of time to spare but does anyone know who is performing where right now?

Nope. At least not the ones I have.

They are from Protea Playing Cards - a South African company.

Magic in San Francisco

Sorry if this is the wrong forum - but I couldn't find a "right" one.

I'm in San Fran for a few days and would love to see some live magic. Anyone know of any table magic or other live performances going on in the city?

Thanks Steve - I just cracked a new box of Poker Tour and it is certainly an improvement - but still some cracking - must be me.

Have you experimented with pre-folding to speed up the operation?

Jumping Frogs

I have been experimenting with Robert Neale's Jumping Frogs and while I love the effect they have on people I am having problems finding playing card stock that doesn't disintegrate/tear when folded. I have tried Bicycle (large index if it matters) and World Poker Tour, but the surface of both break...

Re: e-books - the last 5 years - your opinion

Q: Do you think that e-books made a positive development over the last 5 years? A: Absolutley. Particularly in terms of making available out-of-print publications available in a practical usable form. The ability to search alone is very valuable. Q: How large do you think the magic e-book market is ...
