Re: The Professor

This video was a blessing in surprise to me rather recently. I have told the story for years about the 1 time I met Dai Vernon and how I got my ass kicked by him. I was very, very new to magic. I was attending the Midwest Magic Jubilee in St. Louis and there was a lecture that I wanted to sit on the...

Re: Announcing The David Neighbors Project - Volume One

I've broken the effects down that utilize gaffs and which gaffs they are. I was surprised by just how few gaffs are needed and/or gaffs that are simple to make or we as magicians already have. Here is a list of gaffs needed that we already have or a bit of glue and you can make them at home: - Doubl...

Tom, thank you for bringing this to everyone's attention. It's a shame this thread got hijacked to talk about anything other than Circuit. Re: L&L Publishing eBooks

The value of physical books is related solely to the collectable market--what is someone willing to pay to have a paper version on their shelf. Me, personally I treasure the many autographed books in my magic library. They have value to ME because they have been autographed by the authors who are f...

Re: L&L Publishing eBooks

I asked about the new products. I was told yes-then no. And I think we miss the point in considering this a discussion of books and not information. While a magic publisher sometimes produces volumes that have a high physical production values, much of what we trade in is more akin to a text or coo...

Re: L&L Publishing eBooks

Perhaps a business model where a new hardcover is released first, then the ebook a year later, might be perceived as more "fair". I doubt that will mute all the criticism, but it could be argued that that procedure would be akin to the hardcover/paperback schedule of the non-magic publish...

Frankly, I'm amazed at the silence in this thread from folks who, collectively, have put hundreds of thousands of dollars in L&L's coffers, and who are now witnessing the cash value of their books drop through the. I stepped up to the plate early in this thread and voiced my displeasure. In cas...

Re: L&L Publishing eBooks

When contracts were set up with magicians to do books (Elmsley, Williamson, Takagi, Jennings and others), were agreements made to allow for pdf-ebooks to be produced? Re: The Eclectic Rainbow Deck 2011 Edition

Got my deck from David the other day. He has gone to a ton of work and research to create these decks. They are very nice and very fun to have. It's especially fun going through the backs one by one and putting a timeline on some of these.

Great work David! Thanks for making these available!

Re: Bruce Cervon Castle Notebooks Volume 5 !

Agreed . . . if they issue ANY of these 5 books in ANY other form . . . then the release of only 500 of each of the 5 volumes only became a marketing scam. :-( That would only speak volumes of any company's ethics. I certainly hope this doesn't "all" come down to money!

Re: The Jennings book rumor vs Jennings Card Wright

You know, those 2 points are very interesting Richard. I do remember reading your contributions on these plots (I guess they weren't plots until you printed them and everyone else took a hold of them and ran with them). I'm curious, were you given proper credits for the fusion and inversion effects?...

I have just recently visited the site: Lybrary.com. Are there not copyright infringements that come into play? So...

I liked the book and especially the style. I'd like to see more books that take out of date material and "fix" it for the sake of the effect. Much the same way Darwin Ortiz did the Annotated Erdnase. :)

At Walgreens, you can get a bottle of 1/2 rose water and 1/2 glycerin already mixed up for about nothin'. Then buy a bottle of 40% rubbing alcohol, for less than about nothin'. Mix 2 parts of the rose water/glycerin and 1 part of the alcohol in a small spray bottle. Just a couple of light mist spray...
