Re: Looking for Daryl: Live from London, vol 2.

Tom, I've checked Daryl's website and they have been out of the tape for a long time. There's even an old message on the Cafe where Daryl mentioned that.

Quentin - Thanks for the tip, I'll see what they say!

Photobucket until recently let you upload a picture on their site so it could be seen on another site for free. That is no longer free, you have to subscribe to a plan and pay for the usage.

Spot the magic tricks in this MST3K movie!

No, not in the host segments - done as practical "science fiction" effects in the movie itself! Madness! It's episode #3 of the new Mystery Science Theater 3000, featuring "The Time Travelers." Let's see, what did they do? - Live android head swapping, using a table with unnecess...

Tony Giorgio on MST3K

I was watching the new Mystery Science Theater 3000, and the second episode features a real dud of a movie, "Cry Wilderness." IMDB describes it this way: "Bigfoot's ghost brings a boy (Eric Foster) to where his father (Maurice Grandmaison) and a hunter are mistaking Bigfoot for a Beng...

Old video of Daryl on a talk show

I saw a video clip of Daryl in my Facebook stream. It was on an old TV talk show or morning show, and he was doing material from some of his books. But now I can't find the clip, it's been overwhelmed by all the other stuff.

Does anyone have a link?

Also, don't forget the huge amount of content, or just "stuff", that is pouring out of all media all the time now. There is just too much TV, too many movies, books, music, plus your friends and acquaintances sharing things on social media... Magic is going to get lost in the shuffle, even...

So I just saw the Uri segment - OMG, what a painful thing to watch. You can almost see the gears spinning as he thinks, "I'm f*cked."

It's also amazing to see the pacing of the overall show back then. Nobody seems in any sort of hurry.

I think I saw that once at a convention.

For anything collectible like this, set up an alert on ebay. Just search for "Vue Lighter" there and then click the "Follow this search" link at the top of the results. Then log in every now and then to see what people have listed.

I would say that that SF Gate's review is "mediocre". Look at the Little Man in his seat at the top of the review...he's not clapping or jumping out of his seat, he's just sitting up. It's a 3 on a scale of 5. Here's a guide to the images: http://austinkleon.com/2008/09/19/the-little-man/

Richard, I figure at some point (Five years? Ten?) it will become impractical to do print magazines, and along with newspapers, it'll all be digital..on some kind of thin-as-paper tablet.

It's starting to work this way for many print magazines. I now get free digital access to both Wired and MAKE magazines with my subscription. The day when magazines stop being printed on paper at all is a little closer.

They've fixed the bug in the Android version, where you had to delete and re-download the app to make the new issue show up. This month, when the app updated, the latest issue showed up on the menu, and downloaded with no problem.
