Re: Houdini Bio-Pic Reviews Start Rolling In

I would say that that SF Gate's review is "mediocre". Look at the Little Man in his seat at the top of the review...he's not clapping or jumping out of his seat, he's just sitting up. It's a 3 on a scale of 5. Here's a guide to the images: http://austinkleon.com/2008/09/19/the-little-man/

Re: Magic Magazine Digital versus Genii

Richard, I figure at some point (Five years? Ten?) it will become impractical to do print magazines, and along with newspapers, it'll all be digital..on some kind of thin-as-paper tablet.

Re: Magic Magazine Digital versus Genii

It's starting to work this way for many print magazines. I now get free digital access to both Wired and MAKE magazines with my subscription. The day when magazines stop being printed on paper at all is a little closer.

Re: Magicians stealing

It sounds like "Sketch-O-Magic" by David Garrard, which is still for sale by the publisher, Sammy Smith:

My PDF of Michael Close's reviews from MAGIC shows Mike reviewed it in February, 1998. He recommended it.

Pete - I remember a Rita Rudner joke about that. Something about how she brought home a new wastebasket in a bag, then she immediately threw the bag away in the new wastebasket.

Re: Digital September 2013 Issue of Genii Now Live

They've fixed the bug in the Android version, where you had to delete and re-download the app to make the new issue show up. This month, when the app updated, the latest issue showed up on the menu, and downloaded with no problem.

With advances in smartphone technology, it is possible to create an app that does the job of what were previously specialized, stand-alone electronic devices.
