Re: I Join Those Banned from The Magic Cafe

Silly in the extreme, but so is most all of the banning that goes on there.

And what happens to the Genii section of the Cafe if the Head Genii is banned?

Re: Wonderball

my trumpet teacher gave excellent advice. If you can hear the difference between you and severinson, some day - with practice - you have the chance to sound like that. Re: Magic Shops in London, Paris, and Rome

Rome has a very unique little shop called Eclectica that has antique toys, figurines, and a small magic collection, including some books. Thanks for the name of this place. I'm pretty sure it's a shop I saw on one visit, but they weren't where I remembered on my last visit. I figured they closed, b...

Re: card college DVD's and list of card tricks for newbie

does anyone know if mr giobbi intends to complete the DVD series? Other than Mr. Giobbi, probably not. The great thing is that it doesn't matter! His series can only take you so far. Re: Genii digital content

There is no perfect way. Magic magazine annoys me because I have to dig out the physical issue. It's not always easily available--if I'm even home. The Genii archive can be accessed anywhere. Both ways make sense to their respective publishers. But I still subscribe to both and have no intention of ...

Re: Native and Foreigner Magicians in Japan?

There were certainly some weddings, but it seemed like much of the visitors in town were salary men. They'd get on the shinkansen, arrive in Atami and change into yukata for the duration of the stay. Put the suit back on and back on the train. Lots of company banquet business. The yukata was so such...

Re: Why Red?

In my case, the color preference dates back to the early 80's when close up magic was done on a close up pad. A black pad was out--I was doing Roth's portable hole. Red was just too bright and garish for my taste which left blue. A blue deck on a blue pad had no contrast, so red backed cards it was-...

Looking for a Method

An idea for a new piece would include rolling a photo (8x10 or 11x14) into a cone, and when it is unrolled it is a different photo.

Does that sound like anything already out there as a marketed trick or in print?

Thanks

Another neat thing would be to have a time code (ie:2:24) so we'd have a sense of how long the clip is.
