Re: Raymond Beebe?

Tom I just sent a friend of mine an e mail who maybe able to help. I'm not sure if he will have any information but he's one of the few that I know of that very well could be of some help. I met Raymond Beebe once in the mid to late 1970's but it was a one time meeting here in Vegas. I don't really ...

I read that on F.B. last night. I like it. As for the "staying up late part" Granted some people aren't night owls. But It seem that this points out to take advantage of whatever time period that you are the most creative and utilize. It's not a blanket statement of "You must stay up ...

Re: Ann Coulter would like Appleton to celebrate Joe McCarthy, not Houdini

Many don't know this but the whole Mcarthy era idea was really the brain child of Sen Pat McCarran of Nevada. But at that time they wanted to push Sen Joe McCarthy into the public eye so that project was given to him to take the reigns of. But it wasn't Joe's idea at all. Yes McCarran International ...

For Sale "THE RAMSAY CLASSICS" By Andrew Galloway.

I hate to part with this book as it hasn't been on my bookshelf that long but We do what we have to do. This book belongs on every serious student of our art's bookshelf and to be studied and not gather dust. It's a used book of course. No dust Jacket. Edges of the cover are worn in place but not ba...

Re: New Dai Vernon DVD ReleasedI

I don't think David Ben is looking like the "Man who says no" by any stretch of the imagination. He is looking out for the Vernon estate as he should be. The Larry has no idea what he is talking about and is the "Man who doesn't know jack about much of anything."

Re: Dr Sacks Dice Routine

Opie, the routine in Sachs Sleight of Hand is not the same as the Dr. Sack routine in Bruce Elliott's Classic Secrets of Magic. Mike Skinner did do the routine, and he used jumbo big-ass dice. I personally don't think the turnover move was as convincing with such big dice (obviously the dice were h...

Re: Another Reason Not to Keep Tigers

That's true Jonathon. I'm sure it's been thought about and maybe tried and was found either way to be a bad idea.

It would be nice to think that these animals can and will as the saying goes "have the wild taken out of them.} But it's not going to happen. At least not in my opinion anyhow.

Steve, there is research with foxes where after about 40 generations they start getting quite tame. Is there similar with the big cats? If so, what do the tamed tigers and lions etc look like? Swamy as Richard said Elmsley was the first to do his count from dealers grip. That is well doucumented in the book The Collected Works Of Alex Elmsley vol#1 Written by Stephen Minch. Re: The Annotated Magic of Slydini

I agree except as in My example above but I could be very wrong even then.

Anyway enough of that. If a magician wants to learn laping for times when he or she maybe at a table and do effects that require such a thing the Slydini books are something that should be studied.

I wouldn't say that the cigarette routines can no longer be performed. True there are more places that it would not be looked on very well if they were performed now. I agree that with what some have said that the Elmsley count from pinch grip just doesn't look right. I switched to this 11 years ago and it just feels and...
