Re: NEW FORUM: Post your problems/issues here

Just a note.

In Opera Mini the new mobile style looks great, and loads very quickly. Haven't tried it on the native Android Browser yet, but even switching back and forth between styles works well for me in Opera.

Nice job!

Re: NEW FORUM: Post your problems/issues here

I am viewing the forum on Opera Mini, and it formats nicely and loads quickly. Opera Mini (and the desktop browser for that matter) is free, comes with a lot of nifty features, and Opera has been a favorite of mine since the desktop version 3 way back in Win 3 days. Might be worth a look, I have a s...

Re: NEW FORUM: Post your problems/issues here

I'll second an earlier request for smaller headlines, and the one for a one or two line preview as well. In fact, for me, the "look" of the old forum was terrific. I could read stuff efficiently and quickly, and the colors and contrast were great. On this one, the fonts seem a bit light, a...

Restaurant workers - any Olive Garden experiences?

I'm looking for folks who may have worked Olive Garden, and wondering if I could ask a few quick questions.

Thanks for your time -- PM me and I can email you back if that's easier.

Cheers,

Re: The Egg Trick with Johnny Carson and Dom Deluise

This is truly one of my favorite clips from the Tonight Show. I will never forget seeing it the first time it aired, and how grateful I was that it made many "Best of..." shows.

Thanks for the terrific clip. Two very talented and funny people at their funniest.

A follow-up to the last question -- the glass is marked Kar-Lac Mix Serv on the bottom. I know it's the same glass used in the original effect. So you have! Excellent question too -- I responded via email, but it's the exact same glass as the original -- I am pretty sure it's Anchor Hocking, but I can double check it tomorrow.\ It is the glass used in the mixer when you order a malt, and I dug around until I found a duplicate to the broken ...

Re: RIP - Ye Olde Magick Blogge

It was quite interesting to read -- I really enjoyed his self challenge last year to post daily -- there were some great thoughts there.

I am sorry to see that he has discontinued it. It's worth searching to see if it was ever archived, too. As I said, some interesting thinking there.

Re: Knife Throwing Gaff?

I have a puppet knife throwing act, designed by Joe Owens and built by Fred Cowan, that uses a spring loaded knife that shoots out into position. Re: How to make money doing close up magic!

I think it could be a great idea in the right circumstance. The psychology of the thing is pretty good -- Pitching a svengali deck right after a magic show gives the impression that "If I can do this, then I could do all that other neat stuff too." Further, I think that by keeping the &quo...

Re: How to make money doing close up magic!

I can see why most performers wouldn't make good front men. Asking for the money is difficult for a lot of them. I can also see why there need to be two people -- the change in hats, for want of a better word, would probably make it harder to engage the audience. It seems there is an advantage to ha...

Re: Lance Burton To Close Vegas Show

Another thing to think about is that the casino model of paying for a show is pretty much dead. Lance's show was kind of an anomaly, and it wouldn't surprise me if the budget cut was a tactic to get the show to close so the room would be open to a four wall deal. It does seem to me that the casino's...
