Re: New from Kaufman and Company: The Skinner Tapes

Thank you to Allen Okawa, John Carney and Richard Kaufman for this wonderful gift. Too bad you were not able to put in the set the two full Michael Skinner's appearances on the Tonight Show. You only find excerpts on You Tube. He really was at his prime at that time as you can see below. http://www.y...

Triumph - Dai Vernon

In 1946, Dai Vernon publishes his effect called "Triumph" in the Stars of Magic series. It quickly becomes one of the great classic of card magic. It is true that this card trick has it all: a catchy story, a stunning effect and a relative ease of execution. Below, I suggest you to redisco...

Gaining Respect for Magic by Darwin ORTIZ in Scams & Fantasies with Cards

Hi everyone, In his book Scams & Fantasies with cards, Darwin Ortiz wrote about Gaining Respect for Magic. He says that " the real reason some people resent magicians is because they don't realize that the magician is doing something they can't." But don't you think that the true reaso...

David Ben's article on Max Malini in this october issue

I would like to thank David Ben for his wonderful article about Max Malini.
I was wondering if Malini's son Oziar ever performed Magic professionally?
I would also love to read a similar article on Charlie Miller.

The foursome strikes again

Hi Mr Lorayne,

I apologise, I should have given explicit credit to you for the idea of the effect. You are now also credited in the description of the effect posted on you tube.
All the best,

Poll: With which magician would you like to spend an evening talking magic?

I was wondering what was THE magician with which you would like to spend an evening talking magic?
Obviously, you must choose a magician that is still alive.
Personally I would choose Eugene Burger.
And you?

Looking for a trick by Charlie Miller

A friend of mine told me that Charlie Miller used to show a trick during his lectures in Europe where a check changed into a bill while burning on the foot of a glass turned upside down.
Does someone remember this trick by Charlie Miller?
Did he publish it somewhere?

Who had first the idea to make a one-at-a-time assembly?

I thought it was Dai Vernon but in Card College Vol. 5 it is written on page 1239 that: "Lin Searles introduced the notion that the aces might travel singly".
Do you know where and when Lin Searles introduced the notion?
