The first trick of the book "Topsy-Turvy Cards" is in fact "Tenkai's Reverse Cards Mystery" which can be found in Tarbell Vol 1 page 215.

Re: Are we living in a golden age of magic?

I think that if I had to sum up in two words why I think we are living a golden age of magic, those two words would be:
Accessibility
Never before good magic has been so easily accessible thanks to internet.

Popularity
I think that magic has never been as popular as it is now thanks to internet.

Re: Are we living in a golden age of magic?

Hi Brad, I was thinking about your comments on Oz Pearlman: You suggest Oz is worth watching. This man has never indicated by his performance choices that he has any understanding at all what the effect is that he is presenting. He seemingly believes enthusiasm is the same as 'character' and I have ...

Re: Are we living in a golden age of magic?

Hi Erdnasephile, You asked "Who are the magic "suns" of today that are drawing people to them?" Any answer to such question is of course subjectif but it's a fact that Jeff Mac Bride and Eugene Burger are drawing people to their Mystery School. I think that many people would love...

Hi Brad, I am very sorry to hear that you got insulted for what I consider to be a very interesting point of view on the state of our art. It's great that we do not always share the same point of view because it is that that makes for interesting discussions. If I may say it, I do not understand why...

Hi Brad, I totally agree that "you can't become a magician by watching videos on the internet. " But what is great nowadays is the ease with which you can watch good magicians perform thanks to internet. I think it's a great source of inspiration. I think you can learn a lot by watching ma...

I think that it is because Stephen Hobbs was motivated to do a free web 'zine that we ended with this toolbox.
It is not just an other dvd project.

Search an Aldo Colombini's effect

I once read an Aldo Colombini's effect in the Linking Ring where a selection vanished from between four aces and reappeared face up in the deck.
Does someone knows the name of the trick and when it was published in the Linking Ring?
Thank you in advance for your help.

The Eight in the Side Pocket by Dai Vernon

In march 1941 (Vol.5, No.7,p.223), Dai Vernon published a trick named "The Eight in the Side Pocket". In this trick, a selected card sandwiched between two deuces transposes with an eight of clubs which was in the side pocket. Vernon explains that Jacob Daley has also worked out a novel me...

In 1946, Dai Vernon publishes his effect called "Triumph" in the Stars of Magic series. It quickly becomes one of the great classic of card magic. It is true that this card trick has it all: a catchy story, a stunning effect and a relative ease of execution. Below, I suggest you to redisco...

Obviously, you must choose a magician that is still alive.
Personally I would choose Eugene Burger.

Looking for a trick by Charlie Miller

A friend of mine told me that Charlie Miller used to show a trick during his lectures in Europe where a check changed into a bill while burning on the foot of a glass turned upside down.
Does someone remember this trick by Charlie Miller?
Did he publish it somewhere?
