Al Cohen's Puill - July 2014

There are magic events that many of us that have been around for more than a few years recall vividly. Those times when you were seriously fooled. It doesn't happen very often. I can't recall the convention or the year, but it may well have been one of the early Gatlinburg conventions when Al Cohen ...

Re: Ricky Jay's Congress of Wonders

At my advanced age a lot of things make me wonder. I have been a hobbyist for about 60 years and have never pretended to be anything else. It has always amazed me how so many magicians fawn over "names" that show that show nothing but total disdain for other magicians, particularly amateur...

Tickets to see Mac King

My wife is making her first trip to Vegas in October and we are joining 2 other couples there. I've been raving about Mac King's show and want to take everyone there one afternoon. (I've been to Vegas once, so I'm the old pro). Maybe a regular visitor can give me advice on the best way to get ticket...

Has the new version been "rebooted"? I've read everything I can, but I still get "no active subscriptions".

What there a next step?

Re: Question Re the Genii Archives

"Immense Abuse" I don't think so. Has anyone here tried to sell old magazine. They're worth zilch (and I assume copies are even less) At one time I had probably 30 years of Genii and tried to sell them. Sold a couple for peanuts, but couldn't even give them away for postage. I took them to...

Playing Card Printers

This isn't execatly magic, but I would appreciate input from anyone that has used a service. My son, the artist (not sure where he gets it), is considering producing a deck(s) of cards with his artwork on the back. He's received samples from makeplayingcards.com and I didn't think the quality or pri...

Just for completeness, here's a so-so picture of my Deluxe version. I have no idea whether they all were this model or whether various models were used. Maybe Paul or Dick know. Re: Let's discuss the KOORNWINDER KAR...

For those that may be interested, there is another "authorized" version (at least I assume it was, since it was sold by Ken Brooke). The car was produced from an elaborate Matchbox type car. I believe it was modified by Jim Hooper. It had some neat features, such as the car turning to face...

Re: KRESKIN APPEARING IN PHILLY SUBURB THIS WEEKEND!

My wife and I went to see Kreskin last October. We live in St. Charles which is about 50 miles from Chicago. To take advantage of Halloween they had references to Al Capone when promoting the show. It was an unfortunate choice, as it had nothing to do with his show. I have seen Kreskin a couple of t...

Kreskin and Al Capone

I saw that Kreskin will be appearing at a local theater (St Charles, IL) and thought I would go and see him since it's been 40 years since the last time I went to one of his shows. Then I saw the show was titled The Amazing Kreskin's Search for Al Capone . It is described as follows: The fact that t...

Searching for a certain mentalism routine

I guess I've got to quit trying to organize my magic or take better notes! I recently ran across a Brinks lock which can be set to any four digit number. At one time I used this in a routine where the spectator's ring was "accidentally" locked on the lock and then there was a jumbo card ro...

Treating blown eggs

I found a small supply of pullet size eggs to use in my Malini Egg Bag routine.

I'm wondering how to strengthen/treat them.

A glue called Mad Podge (Diluted 50%) seems to be popular to coat the inside of the shell. It is also useable on the outside.

Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks.....

Re: A new Magical way to hand out your business card

Damian, I bought the app yesterday. Some initial thoughts: 1. It IS very similar to Bizcard and I'm not sure worth the cost of a new app. Maybe the coming features will prove me wrong. 2.
