Re: Inventing The Ten Card Poker Deal

Great review by Jared Kopf in the July 2015 MAGIC. Excerpts follow: “[This] … new collection of ten-card poker deals is as good as it is exhaustive. “… If a student wants to learn almost everything there is to know about the Ten Card Deal, from its countless handlings to its fascinating background, ...

Re: randi documentary - an alternative perspective.

At a Toronto lecture, I asked Randi if the same standards that he applied to others should be applied to him, because, at the time, I thought some of his claims outran his evidence. I didn't get an answer; the audience just booed--me.

Re: Dannemora Prison Break As A Magic Trick

CNN also broadcast a comment that the escapees must have had a really long extension cord for the power tools. Extension cords for power tools? That's so 1970s. For dumb quotient, I think this tops CNN's Don Lemon's black hole theory: http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/don-lemon-black-hole-malays...

Curtis:

Other ideas to cover the noise:

1. Fly a really noisy helicopter near the prison.

2. Prisoners bang metal coffee cups on bars, while yelling, "Warden! We won't eat this slop!"

3. Metallica concert in adjacent field.

4. Metallica concert in New Jersey.

My solution also covers another problem: how do you cover up the noise of cutting through solid steel at night? The reports so far assume it was done at night. Dannemora Prison Break As A Magic Trick

I'm sure everyone has heard of this: http://www.cnn.com/2015/06/07/us/new-york-escapees/ In thinking about this, I applied trick brain analysis and have concluded the authorities have it wrong: nobody broke out, somebody broke in. Think of it like magic trick: it only appears impossible because the ...

Both copies are the same. It is not necessary to read both, just read one.

The other one goes to the guy partially responsible for the book, responsible in the sense that the book will help pay off his student loans, Mr. Mini, my son, Brandon (presently enjoying the sunshine in Edinburgh).

Re: Lovecraft to Houdini

Another magic connection: when I told my designer I need a logo for the Bammo Dekronomicon and he could do whatever he wanted, he told me he used to jog past H.P. Lovecraft's grave regularly and had a great idea--he'd use mystical, Lovecraftian symbols. See it here: http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/S96...

Don't worry. The book is hermetically sealed within plastic, then wrapped in a cuddling bag of bubble wrap inside a protective layer of armor-grade cardboard. All secured by thick bands of a 21st century adhesive product.
