Go to you tube and type in Bill Bixby the Magician. Watch a complete episode "Nightmare in Steel". Dated as it is over 30 years old but still a joy to watch and for those my age, to remember. Then sign the petition to Paramount to release the series as a DVD boxed set. What the heck - some...

My God Pete that has to be a scary senario. Glad everything is alright. How is he doing, shootings are such unpredictable and traumatic events.

Hey Abbott!

Sorry couldn't resist. The article on Abbott was simply wonderful and up to the usual high standards I have come to expect from Genii. I've already begun to work on the coin routine. Good to see Teller sans partner as well. I would love to hear more from him as a professional performer

Re: Don Alan clip is back up

I am lucky enough to have a video tape of the performance. As I remember the ball did not appear as expected and Don not missing a beat picked up the invisible ball and quickly recovered. Sign of a true professional. I was pretty disappointed with the book. But that is another story.

Re: Al Schneider on Clairity

Al is indeed generous. His web sit as noted above not only has a lot of great magic to see but an entire "book" on the art of misdirection. This can get any magician wanting to improve to think. A great piece of work. I always look forwaed to articles about theory - tricks are okay but the...

Mark Wilson Saga

I love reading about this. It is always uplifting as well as motivational to hear the stories of how successful people got that way.

I would love to see some similar things about others who have done well. Not just performers but dealers, inventors, even publishing mougals! (That's a hint Richard).

This was also performed on a television special by Doug Henning "Doug Henning on Broadway". Can't remember the exact date but he was getting ready to launch the rather unsuccessful musical "Merlin" at the time. This was intended to be a return to Broadway. The special was great a...

You didn't say if you were flying or driving across the border, but I would imagine you are going to need a copy of his birth certificate to fly outside the U.S. a letter from parents would be helpful but I am not sure it is necessary. Welcome Jones. I admire your desire for magic. Being high functioning would I be correct in assuming we are talking about Asperger's syndrome?

Directness may be welcome in these fourms.

I had the opportunity to see Mr. Blackstone live four times here in Minneapolis. Twice at the Orpheum, once at a gala celebration at one of the Malls I think it may have been Ridgedale,(way before Mall of America was even thought of) and I was one of the favored few to fanagle a ticket to participat...

I have just three things to say here: 1. The Scarificial Head Illusion where you burn the head and end up with nothing but a Oooohhh scary skeleton skull is the ultimate worst illusion ever. 2. The tip over trunk still fools many laymen 3. I remember seeing say she had some sort of dri...

Yikes! Surgery is a bit farther than I would be willing to go for my art. Besides an awful lot of good sleight-of-hand magicians and fancy finger flinging card men have done so with less than perfect mits. Some complain their hands are too stubby, others too thin, yet they do stuff that makes the re...

Thank you Mikie and Angelo. Besides my passion for magic I work as a psychologist and deal with a lot of troubled kids. The six to ten year old crowd can be engaged quite readily through the use of magic. I am always looking for a source of small items that are either already packaged tricks or can ...

I have seen this post and replied to it on another fourm. The Appleton Museum is a very small place. Charming but small. When I visited it a few summers ago they were very few people there. I would be willing to bet that once the publicity wears off - and if we don't make the same mistake we did wit...

Edward Marlo's "Shoot the Works" is a great book and gives a thorough explaination of the mechanics of dice stacking. At one time Abbotts had the book in their catalog. My last copy was catalog #25. I first learned it from the Crandall book and I sold the Goshman dice stacking kits for a w...

Richard, Just received my new copy of Copperfield's Project Magic Book. I had one from long ago, it was a pretty grotesque thing, looked like it was mimeographed. I'm going to avoid being cutesy with a magic name and not suggest "The Torn Corner" and instead simply suggest calling it The Hideaway. Then again it doesn't matter what you call it as long as the magic is good. For a very brief time in the Minneapolis area we had a bar/restaraunt called D...
