Re: Jay Marshall: Beating a Dead Horse

Beating a Dead Horse is an extraordinary contribution to magic literature. Uri Geller-Strange Occurences in Magic-Al James

Richard Kaufman, Outstanding cover article on Uri Geller in the March issue! When Geller says to the audience of magicians, "most of you must have encountered some moment that you stop and say, 'wow, that couldn't have been a coincidence,'" Al James, a Chicago professional, said that in re...

Re: Card Production in "Daredevil"

This might be the subject for another thread, but what other common magic tricks could be used as part of a comc hero's arsenal?

How about "Ambitious Man" who stupifies his prey with countless variations of Ambitious Card.

Re: Genii Speaks/ Edward Victor

Richard,
As you may know I'm a musician, not a magician. But I'll read Bruce Elliot's book on your recommendation. We only have about 4 million books here, so it's hard to know where to start. Thanks for the tip.

Genii Speaks/ Edward Victor

Great editorial and tribute to Jay in the new issue. Richard mentions the book he published on Edward Victor. Truly a great book. Ed Victor was one of the greatest close-up men of his generation, if not ever. The book is beautifully layed out and full real work; performance tested magic with cards, ...

But isn't there another magic shop in Chicago? Maybe one that invites people to their lectures ahead of time instead of posting about "super secret" lectures after the fact?

Re: UPDATE: Jay Marshall has died

Hello Magii, Just back from the hospital and Jay looks much better, awake and alert. The Dr's last night were not very optimistic, but today he has much more energy and there is still every reason to hope for a positive outcome. When I went in earlier I told him he looked great and the nurse, in tha...
