Re: Magician on Britian's Got Talent

based on everything I have heard from people who have worked in that show, both as contestants and in production, the reactions on the judges faces as well as the oohing and awwing were most likely added in post. for someone whose act has zero applause cues he sure does manage to hit every single be...

Re: Magician on Britian's Got Talent

I recall Walter Sheppard discussin the pollack cage. he and Channing were Chavez students together. Walter had one of the cages. The bars were made from tape measures.

part of me wants to say Walter may have built it for Channing. But that may be the fog of memory.

Re: I Join Those Banned from The Magic Cafe

I had to fight tooth and nail to insure several people received credit for a popular 'new' card effect - that dates back to the first decade of the 1900's. The seller even then went on to lie that the person from whom the sold version was stolen from was "ok" with it. I spoke to that perso...

erdansephile - thanks. that answers the question on the copyright front. Now interested in John Signa's trademark consideration. the potential confusion which is intended to be the result of the fair use if purchased material was at the heart of my question - how it impacts the situation.

again, Tom, a key point is being overlooked - in the case I mentioned the maker was not going to 'print and sell as many as he wanted". a better example would be someone took the barks original, cut it up and sold that piece made from the original barks material - no copies. I can see how both ...

Re: Magicians stealing

Tom - to sample music you must make a copy of it. in my example the person bought an item and resold that item after coloring and glueing it to wood. seems to me that should be ok. If I bought a Barney doll, be headed it, and sold it as a taxidermy mount as long as I am using legal items I bought, s...

Re: Best Version of Lubor Fiedler's Gozinta Boxes EVER

As I confessed, I have not seen or figured out a way which really sells the 'magic' of this effect. At best I have managed curious intrigue - and even then I'm not sure everyone even 'gets it'.

any suggestions from those with experience really getting killer reactions for these?

Re: Derek DelGaudio to produce new Disney movie

Derek earned a swing in the big game. The big game has rules and players that make it hard to connect, let alone hit a slam dunk. Derek is in an unenviable position, to be so young and find himself with this opportunity - an opportunity far more 'real' than what many magicians can dream of (a cheapl...
