Illusionists question

Re the group with Kevin James et al, does anyone know the differences (magic-wise) between the 7:00 family friendly show and the 10:00 more adult show? Trying to make ticket decisions.

Re: Penn on Celebrity Jepoardy tonight!

Wow, Dustin. It's a great movie, with great casting, great music. I've seen it many times, get hooked every time. Not so much as my daughter. When I first saw it, I told her she'd love it. She did. Later admitted to watching it 400 times over a year and a half. Would watch half before school and hal...

Re: The June Issue of Genii is Now Live: Look Who's On the C

Great cover article! And …. rats! Tried to watch the videos on the iPad last night, and YouTube informs me that they have "upgraded" to a new version, and the new version is no longer supported on my first-edition iPad. Not Genii's fault, but still annoying. Hey, kids. Guess what I want fo...

Re: DaOrtiz in the May Genii

I was wondering if anyone else had noticed.

I find it amazing how Dani can often create a two-phase trick or a two-trick set in which the first sets up the second.

I also quite enjoyed Caleb's trick this month. May was indeed a strong issue.

Re: Good wax for spreading double cards?

Harry Robson's Roughing Stick is wonderful. I just duplicated what you want, tossed two roughed pairs to the table. They did not spread, looked just like two cards. But they then easily spread at my touch. (I saw the amazing Howard Hamburg do this at Magi-fest WITHOUT, so far as I know, any added su...

No more Magic Castle?

According to Milt Larsen's latest blog here:

http://miltlarsen.tumblr.com/post/112651600669/blog-22

the AMA's recent actions to remove both Milt and the Magic Castle from the Magic Castle have reached the point of litigation.

Re: 211: Nick Lewin - A Brit Under the Brim

Most of Scott's podcasts are excellent, but I felt this one was off the charts good. Nick is one of my favorite magicians and magical philosophers, and he had much to say that was new and surprising.

Re: reading vs video

Dani DaOrtiz has contributed some seriously wonderful material to Genii in the past year. One of those was a card stabbing routine, two methods for tossing a card into the deck and stabbing just above a selected card. I read it first and tried it, rather, butchered it, like a little girl learning to...

Re: Nudity in Magic

Nudity also flavors magical literature. Re: Nudity in Magic

Bonnie Saxe produced the Showgirls of Magic at the San Remo, a successful little show for a time. The late show was topless, and the girls would hang out at the Desert Magic Seminar. I was there once and taking notes for my web site. A young Mexican spectator said, "Hey, look at that guy."...
