Re: Return of a Controversial Blog

This is the last week that you can arrange to purchase The Jerx Vol 1 for the "low" price of $260, or perhaps at any price. As I haven't read the book yet, I can't unequivocally argue that you should do so. But, wow, I really enjoyed one of Andy's most recent posts, I'll Be My Mirror. It's...

Re: Spirit / seance cloth learning resources?

I published a very simple, basic routine (yet effective and spooky) called "Seance" in The Little Egypt Book of Ghosts. Ah, but I published it first in Genii in the June 1989 issue, so you can look it up if you are a subscriber.

Also, Mike, unless the rules have changed recently (Dustin?), brunch is different from normal evenings. Even if you have a guest card, a member must phone and make the reservation for you. It can be made in your name and secured with your credit card number, but the member needs to set it up for you.

If you go to the Joe Stevens web site (stevensmagic.com), you can find a wealth of information in the Gemini Archives. One of my favorite contributors was Mike Rogers. Here is his work on the magic square:

I've been catching up on the original Maverick series on cable with James Garner, Jack Kelly, and Roger Moore. Fun to see budding actors such as Troy Donahue, Robert Redford, and Adam West and, boy, do I ever still love Connie Stevens. Lots of glamorized poker games, elaborate scams, etc.
