Re: Impressions of IBM/SAM 2014

I thought the 3D show was the best of the convention, especially David Kaye's turn. We were exploding with laughter, along with the kids. Fantastic crowd reaction.

Re: Impressions of IBM/SAM 2014

Thanks for the great overview. Eugene and I would have been happy to have met YOU. I appreciate your filling me in on so much. My new glasses did not allow me to see much (closeup in a 1400-seat theater?). Early in the week especially, the unmanned A/V just didn't do the job either, often zoomed out...

Re: New Genii Website Up and New Digital July Edition Live

In case this helps: the new password with which I've been accessing the iGenii the past few days no longer works. The recent "updating" of the database has knocked it back to the old Ask Alexander password. Give that a try if you are in the same boat.

Re: My Week At The Castle - Part One

Hi, Scott. In your interview with Joan Lawton, you asked her if Don Lawton ever performed in the Closeup Gallery. He certainly did, and I loved him in that room--very relaxed, funny of course, and smooth. I recall two tricks from that era. Don did the version of Sympathetic Coins in which the coins ...

Re: Magic Magazine Digital versus Genii

Re: Magician on Britian's Got Talent

I like Darcy's act. He has a great look, and the ending surprised me. Lest anyone forget, the first and my favorite dove act to deviate nicely and colorfully from the classic acts of Channing and Lance was Greg Frewin's. Very clever, original bits such as the juggling balls to doves. And he was the ...

Kudos on a really fine job at a mostly thankless task. Families are apt to say, "Uh, remember us?" Old lay friends tend to be equally unimpressed with writing accomplishments, and say, "Ah, but can you do a card trick?"

Anyway, WE thank you.

Re: Best Version of Lubor Fiedler's Gozinta Boxes EVER

Re: Is

Too long for me too, the way it was done above. You can start the trick when the spec shuffles half the deck. The prelude to that was not necessary. It would be interesting to see the thinking behind this version.

Re: Is

My vote for the best trick of this genre is Caleb Wiles' 26! ("26 factorial"). A shuffled deck is cut in half, and spec reshuffles one of the halves. The cards in the two halves are shown to match, all the way through. Ordinary cards are used.
