Re: Convention Session Etiquette?

Thanks for the advice, everyone! I plan to be quiet, watch and learn more than talk (which is my nature anyway), but if I somehow end up performing something I'll know better how to handle this. [I'm going be like Mr. Close and work on a couple of couple of magician-killers just in case ;) ) Good i...

Re: Jeff Busby Passes Away

That reminds me of the time years ago when I had a strolling gig at an event held at a very upscale hotel in Manhattan. When I walked into the lobby, I was greeted by numerous girls, screaming and tearing at their hair. And if you don't believe me, you can ask Paul McCartney - he was right behind me.

I never met him or purchased/ordered anything from him. But from the descriptions and stories I've read on this thread and elsewhere, it sounds like he was partly con man and, at least at a certain point, went off his rocker. Perhaps the old saying, "crazy like a fox" (no pun intended) is ...

Re: No mention of latest magic act on AGT?

I would be very saddened to see Performer give it up now (or ever) especially because of what anyone else is doing in (or to) Magic. IMHO, now, more than ever, we need Magicians who are true to, and honor and revere the Art of Magic, and who reflect that in their performances before the public.

James Dean, the actor, was known for his starring role in the 1955 classic film, "Rebel Without a Cause." In a sense, Derek DelGaudio could be seen as a rebel with a cause; that cause being to use magic as a vehicle to convey truth. Of course, before one can convey truth to others, one mus...

I would assert the premise that the Ambitious Card requires that the card be signed. Well, "requires" in the sense that it loses a huge amount of its impact if the card is not signed, and goes from an exceptionally strong trick to, at best, a decent or good one. Is it thus a badly structur...
