Re: RIP Peter Reveen Sr.

Fascinating discussion. There seems to be some phenomenon in the brain and/or psyche which enables a suspension of disbelief in what a person might otherwise know, on a rational level, is fictitious. For example, in watching a movie, we know in many (if not most cases) that the story is completely m...

Not bragging, but I may be the only amateur to have ever check-mated Kolty.

One cannot "copyright" anything under U.S. law. Copyright is a noun, not a verb. Under federal law, a copyright arises automatically upon "creation" of a work. "Creation" occurs when the work is fixed in a tangible form or medium. Example: I come up with a great origina...

My particular "vice" has been custom playing cards. The nice thing about that is that even when you go hog-wild (as I have done especially in the last several years) it doesn't take up much square footage. And, as is the case with books, there is a practical element, as long as you don't j...

I agree with Performer's "pet peeve" regarding long-winded preambles to a trick or routine. My own pet peeve is a running commentary of explanatory patter, e.g. "OK, the deck was shuffled and you had a free choice of a card, and the card has been replaced in the deck. Now, I am going ...
