Hi;
Just want to thank Dustin Stinett for the great writeup about the 40 Annual awards show and Pete Biro for the great photos. I makes us guys out in the sticks (northern Indiana) feel as if we are right there watching.

Hi;
Really enjoyed the Zarrow material! Has anybody else had the center page pop loose from the staples? I think it's probably because this issue is so full of good material.

HELP
Hi; Several weeks ago I read a short-change routine from Br. John Hamman in a recent issue of one of the magic magazines I receive. I worked with it a while and then put it aside. Last week I decided to work on it some more, but I hadn't made a note of what magazine it was in. After going thru the l...

Hi; Another version where the spectator does not have to close their eyes is a variation of the 'cockroach pass'. After the card is placed on the face of the deck, you yell 'cockroach' and stomp on the floor several times. While the spectator is looking at the floor you move the card from the face t...

Hi;
The DVD in my October issue of Genii arrived broken in half! Most probably, it happened when the magazine was folded in half to fit in my mailbox. Anybody else in the same boat??

Hi;
Here's another idea for the card cube, although I would only do this before/after a program, perhaps for the contact person.
Fold the cube and give it away. When they take it apart, your business card is inside!

Hi; I guess I'm torn between the two camps here. I would not try to do magic for strangers who were obviously not interested in seeing magic. On the other hand, when eating at a resturant where there are families with bored children waiting for their food, I usually carry a deck of cards that I use ...

Hi; I'm making this up with big bills (about twice the regular size). I found them at Dollar General Store for (you guessed it) $1.00. You get a packet of several $1, $5, $10, $20 ... I plan on using it in a college mathematics class to illustrate how confusing everyday life can be if you don't unde...

Maven's 'The Ruling Class'
Hi; While shopping with my granddaughter in a Buck Stop store (everything is $1), I found a ruler that is already gaffed to do The Ruling Class from Max Mavens The Other Month column in the July Genii. For $1 you get a plastic ruler with a battery unit on one end. When you press down on the end, the...

Re: The Mystery of Chung Ling Soo NY/Edinburgh
Hi; Richard/Pete; I wasn't complaining about the ad or advertizing in general, and I do realize that advertizing is important to the continuation of Genii. As I said, it was the sudden jolt you get when reading the Chung Ling Soo story and then turning the page to find the ad that is so different fr...

Re: The Mystery of Chung Ling Soo NY/Edinburgh
Hi; If you are like me, you became engrossed in reading about Chung Ling Soo. Steinmeyer's writing transported me back to another time and place and then suddenly I was jerked back to the present by the advertizement in the center pages of the article. This is easily avoided by doing what I did, usi...

Steranko Card Issue
Hi;
I'm trying to find which issue of Genii had the James Steranko section of card effects. I tried the index search, but all I got was the escape issue. Any help would be appreciated. (I have all the issues, just decided this might be faster than looking thru them!)

Hi; Just a quick note about a recent show. It was for a end of school year banquet celebrating the retirement of 8 teachers. I used the Lipp program to make a progressive anagram of all the names, and was lucky enough to have them all work. Even better, when I got to the show site, there was a print...

Can't hardly wait! I'm coming up and planning to bring along Tom Gagnon, the illustrator for the Vernon books. Be sure to have him show you the latest material using his spread control!! We're also trying to convince Randy Wakeman to attend this year. Should be a great time.

Hi; There is a great version in Apocalypse (Don't have access to my file right now) where the cards are delt onto the table, the count to 10 is the same, the delt cards are replaced underneath the packet as the total of the original cards is counted. You end up with a seven, deal out 7 face-up cards...

No problem with the staples, but the post office manages to mangle the cover even thru the plastic bag. (???)

Hi; I'm trying to find this effect (Words of Wonda)in a back issue of Genii. I know it's somewhere and I'm hoping somebody out there has kept better references than I did. It's a progressive anagram routine, and a few months later several improvements were added. I've got the issues (since 1963) but...

Hi;
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned 'Hanging Coins'. For this sized crowd, using silver dollars, it is the ideal effect. Perhaps R Paul Wilson's 3 Fly to produce three coins and then HC follows?

Just an idea that popped into my head while reading about Shoot and the motivation for a ring inside a card. How about a cannibal cards routine where the cards end up eating your ring?
