Re: It's not magic, but AGT 2017-- Whoa!

AGT is supposed to be about talent. Other factors should not play into it really but AGT seems to have used that theme in their shows. I do agree that only the talent should be the determining factor in selecting a winner. AGT has other issues with their show. Last night, after two hours of waiting,...

Re: It's not magic, but AGT 2017-- Whoa!

On one hand, I think it's wonderful when they highlight a talent who has or is currently trying to overcome a hardship. I am truly inspired and delighted by these people and feel for them greatly. On the other hand, they should not dwell on the issue and it should be a genuine hardship if they are g...

Interesting and very worthwhile thoughts performer! I always thought that the rule of thumb is to create a style and patter which is natural for the individual. That works for singers, musicians, and so on just as well. There is something which can be called "stock patter" which is found i...

Re: Slipcases and Books

I suspect a motorized mechanism which slides each volume out of the slipcase one book at a time would be nice.

When you want to return the book to the slipcase, it would do that for you as well.

Wouldn't such a wonderful convenience be worth every penny?

Re: Stars of Magic

I was told years ago that the binder came in three colors. The red binder is the most commonly found one. I have also seen a blue one but do not recall ever seeing a black one. Not only do the originals have the best quality photos but they can be opened flat for easy reading and following. Isn't it...

Re: Slipcases and Books

The only slipcase book(s) I access on a regular basis is Tenyoism. I keep it on the floor near my reading chair and when I want to pull a volume out, I tilt the slipcase forward, get a grip on the book I want, and slide it out. That way, I don't have to lift the set. I suggest that a set like Tenyoi...

Like I always say, stealing magician's secrets is the world's second oldest profession. Nice trick/method. My assumption is a gaffed deck...clue is the way the 2H is displayed/held. That's my guess too… I think that's the big lie: it's not a borrowed deck! Agreed. Several years back, rumor had it that Robbins lost the original plates for the photos but I was told that it was not so. Apparently, the reprint lacked the quality that older editions had due to the way it was printed and not the source. With today's technology, you would think that the photos could...
