Great idea, Nathan. Now how do you recommend corner shorting the other 51 cards so that the edges are exactly the same?
I need a whole deck corner shorted.

I'm looking for a vintage brass corner rounder for playing cards. Anyone? Thanks.

Manipulation playing cards such as Neilsens are about half the thickness of a regular deck.

Good luck finding this. I searched for a couple years before finding one. Barry's magic will not have one, as I checked years ago. Steve doesn't have them either. Your best best is to wait for one on ebay.

I Find This Amazing...
Richard,
How come no one has done a book on one of the true legends in magic- U.F. Grant? I'd love to see a biography of him along with a republication of his numerous manuscripts, and details of his many, many effects over the years. Is there a reason this hasn't been done?

Re: Pocket Index recommendations
The best index I have seen is the Excaliber Gimmick. It was precision made from aluminum and sold for $85. It allowed the entire deck to be in a single pocket. Another advantage was that you could remove the whole deck which was rubber banded (eliminating thoughts of manipulation) from your pocket w...

Re: Sucker Tricks
Harold, I agree with you. I love sucker tricks too. I think they can be very funny and I believe most people find them to be funny and unexplainable. I imagine thats why the Sucker Die Box and the Hip Hop Rabbits have been so popular for years. It's one thing to make an individual feel like they've ...

One of the best watch effects I've seen in a long time is in Alan Nu's The Bizarre Magic of. A Pocket Watch moves itself and upon opening it, the spectators are in for a shock. Great stuff, they will remember forever.

Re: Tenyo Products
My absolute favorite Tenyo is Twister. I didn't buy it for years because the method appeared so obvious to me. Boy, was I wrong! This trick works almost like a sucker effect. You put a pencil in the twister and twist the center a little. No big deal. It appears the pencil could be hidden in the flai...

Re: Shiners
Two small books that come to mind are Rudy Hunter's called Slap A Steak On That Thing, AKA The Shiner Manual, and the Allen-Giorgio shiner manuscript. Steven's magic sells a perfect sized shiner that I use all the time. Its easy to palm and the back is fleshed colored in case your fingers spread. It...

I too, am a policeman. I put together an antidrug show a few years ago. I found a book I can't remember the name, but it was called Stranger Danger, the Magical Say No To Drugs Book, or something like that. It was a little help. I can also recommend some other books if you're interested.

Re: Denny's Ad on the September back cover
I thought the ad was excellent. Look at all the attention it has focused on the most ethical, honest, and respected dealer in the business. I think that was it's goal and it has met it admirably. I laughed and no one got hurt, so where's the problem? Denny is a very funny person and this ad reflects...

BALLS! Lessons in Side-Arm Snookery
Finally, after years of searching I came across what I believe is Richard's second book-- BALLS! Lessons in Side-Arm Snookery. For such an early comb bound book it is exceptionally well done. The writing is typically great and the illustrations are the best I've seen on this subject. What an obscure...

Re: Favorite Lectures You Have Attended
I've seen many, many lectures. Ones that stand out are Mark Mason, Aldo Colombini, and Dave Williamson (Rocky has the be the funniest 5 minutes in magic! Although Jon Allen's Quadro Chick is a close second!)
The common link to those are that each are very funny and genuinely nice people.

Only if I know the person well, like a friend or family, then I use a tarot deck and repeatedly force the death card on them. I only do this in joking manner, and would not try it on a stranger. It actually gets lots of laughs.

Most Powerful Card Tricks
Packet tricks have been discussed, now how about regular card tricks? The most powerful I've done is James Swain's Air Mail Card. I used to have the person sign the card, but after it ended up in my wallet it was so overwhelming to them that all I heard was how did you copy my signature. So now I ha...

Re: mental card tricks
The best mental card trick that I do is a version of Think-a-card on Mark Mason's real World Magic Video vol 1. They shuffle a deck and you fan them out until they merely think of one. Each card is seen, none are hidden. You shuffle and then reveal it. It is super easy. I saw him blow everyone away ...

Books are forever. Don't let this man's genius be limited to a few videos. That would be a disservice to the magic community.
