Re: How to pronounce _____ ?

From Mrs. Trost:

"the correct pronunciation for Trost does rhyme with toast. Many people pronounce it like tossed. Trost is a German surname which means "consolation" and uses the long o."

Re: How to pronounce _____ ?

Back to the original question, I've always pronounced Trost as in toast. So to hopefully clear this up, I've sent the question to an expert on the name -- Nick's wife! I'll report back on what she says.

Re: US Playing Card magic site

Rob, sorry for the tardy response. I've been out of town digging up fossils (literally) with my daughter's class for the last 10 days or so. But no this didn't come up from the Monday lunches! I was kind of sorry to see the hypercard information on the site, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised. And...

Re: Ken Kesey performing coin slights

You'll have to take what Richard says about Henry Hay with a grain of salt as Richard was responsible for his death!

Ok, there's more to it than that, and Richard is mentioned in the 4th printing of the Amateur Magician's Handbook, but still. ;)

US Playing Card magic site

For those that haven't seen it, US Playing Cards has a site dedicated to magic. Besides interviews with some well know magicians, it shows how to make a hypercard:

Re: Bob Cassidy passed away

Bob was an absolutely brilliant man. He probably knew more about mentalism and performing it than anyone. It was a pleasure working with him on his books. We had two more planned but realistically I think there will now only be one more. He surely had his demons -- who doesn't -- but we never saw th...

Re: Kaufman publishing magic books again?

Years ago Karl Fulves did release a video on which he did perform and explain a number of tricks. It's hard to find, but probably the best record of him performing. I know others have had different experiences with Karl, but all of ours were very positive. H & R Magic Books was one of the few de...

Not sure what ever happened to Tom. For a while he was very active.
