I once performed an amazing memorized deck effect to conclude my set. Upon completion the man said "That was good, but how did you fit two tennis balls under that cup?" reffering to my previous trick. Should've stopped at the chop cup routine with this particular audience.

Steve Ehler's Three Card Trick is the best trick in the book bar none. It's in the appendix. I felt like I got sucker punched when Steve performed this for me. It's also the trick that motivated me to memorize a stack.
The Kosy cut is also one of the best flouishy cuts that maintains deck order.

The best Hofzinzer style cull that I've seen described is in the Earick book. It utilizes a push with the left fingers as opposed to the right hand pull.

However, you're exposing the move to the people behind you and to the extreme left side. Believe me, people are looking at you even when you'e not performing...

Bill, You don't have to grab the card with your ring finger at the right corner. I do find that my ring finger does come into contact with this corner, but only to hold it briefly in place as my middle finger contacts the center of card (the short end)and drive it into the palm. Of course this is al...

Re: Earick Bottom Palm
Hi Bill, Usually when one performs the bottom palm, a mild concave bend occurs as it is rotated into the palm. When I did this with Earick's palm the top cards were squirting all over the place. This worked for me: Instead pull the pinky down in a manner which creates a convex bend in the cards. The...

I came into the world of magic in the late seventies, just a few short years before the advent of video instruction. Now, I'm as ADD as the next magician, but I had no choice in how to learn "new" material. It was either books, or bug the hell out of the local pros. Learning magic fast was...

Steve, I'll be in Tucson next month. Let's get together. I'll be there for the whole month.

I tried it out and it definately feels much better than the Kurtz variation. Also, I like your choice of nomenclature (sp?), dom/nondom. Perhaps more books could be written this way.(?)

For a really nice In the hands version that's short and sweet is by doing Karl Hein's shuffle and use Mr. Earicks surprising ending.
