Re: Hand Spiker
Within the last couple of years, Magick Bailey, a Fantasmo demonstrator performed this effect and put his hand thru the spike. A few weeks later, Simon Lovell, did likewise in his show at the Soho playhouse. Gary Kurtz did it. Some U.K. magician put a spectator's hand thru the spike. I am curious if...

Actually reading books is a shortcut to knowledge. Otherwise one woul have to reinvent the wheel.
How many times has the wheel been reinvented? Too many. It round , has no corners, discover the damn wheel already!

Yes people react negatively in this situation. Some stranger shows up wanting to do magic tricks isn't exactly too inviting. "Want to see a magic trick?" is probably not a good opening line.

Yes they found this paddle move in an ancient text buried next a almost complete skeleton of a T-Rex. Oddly enough Dai Vernon is credited in the ancient text as the inventor.

Because this is in the platform area I can assume the original poster does not mean close up. I would do 1 or 2 tricks from act. Tricks that are done deceptively are entertaining or at least my audiences seem to react well to them. I don't add "entertainment" to it. My act is about me and ...

Brian, Didn't mean my remarks to be accusatory and your post certainly made no claim of originality. By combining the principles from two different effects and thereby allowing...

Okay. Barned and Noble had issued a generic "Barnes and Noble" version of dozens of classic book titles. I foud that Homer's Oddessy and Virgil's Aneid were of similiar size, the Aneid being slightly larger. I bought 2 copies of the Oddessy and a copy of the Aneid. It took one cover off an...

nothing wrong with a topless magic show. At least no one is hiding whatever up their bra, which many male magicians do.
