Re: Magic Live! 2009

I had a great time at Magic Live when we went in 2007. I would have gone in a heartbeat this time but I must go to a wedding in Italy... bummer :-) When I found out it was in 2009 instead of three years later, like I expected, I was a little disappointed I was going to miss it. Magic Live is great f...

Re: Need some help - Liquid Vanish

I personnaly have a great fondness for slush powder. I won a talent show with a Water Monte act. Trust me it fools people. It is white, so if you use a plastic cup with a white inside you can possibly show an empty cup or turn it upsidedown that convinces people. What about a cup switch? Watch Tim E...

Re: Americas Got talent

I haven't watched the show yet, I am so mad I missed the Pendragons but I have seen a sword swallower in the commercials for it, does anyone know who it is?

Re: CELEBRACADABRA

the elimination: Every act on that stage had a clear, coherent, engaging through-line...except for Hal's (wtf does a candle have to do with a marshmallow?)... I agree with you. I think most people when they are putting together an act have this problem. Too bad Kim was butting heads with Murray. He...

Re: Wisconsin

My two cents... The University Book Store in Madison used to stock Genii and Magic magazines, and a wide variety of top-notch magic publications. They no longer do. They still sell Magic books, just not in the same area where they were before. They have newer books from what I have been noticing. I...

Re: CELEBRACADABRA

True, he did change his mind but it might have just been for the camera. I do recall him saying something about the magic of giving birth or some such nonesense... I still think his ego is the size of Manhattan and I never really cared for his act... Maybe that is because I used to have to clean up ...

Re: CELEBRACADABRA

I'm embarrased to say I have only seen one episode but I will be trying to watch it again or online. My problem with Kimberly is that she narrated everything she was doing with the teeth. One of things I instructed my students, when I was teaching magic, is don't talk so much. I also didn't think th...

Magic Magazine: 10 Funniest Magicians

I didn't want to start a "cafe" type thread here but after reading the 10 funniest acts I really felt I needed to throw in my two cents. First of all, two of the funniest acts I have ever seen didn't even make the top 31: The Flicking Fingers and Simon Lovell! I could maybe understand peop...

Re: Dancing with the WHA?????

I was sad to see him go. Although I knew he wouldn't make it past a few weeks I didn't expect him to get kicked off first. Anyway I noticed this on MSN this morning http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23835894/ Happy Fr...

Re: Dancing with the WHA?????

For those of you who didn't watch or just want to know, Penn did a good job tonight. Teller was cheering him on from the front row. He was out first for the night and his dance was the Cha-Cha. Penn obviously had a good time but he really needs to work on his footwork, his overall score for the nigh...

Re: Wisconsin

I've been here a year and haven't found much yet.
I still haven't gone to Appleton, although hopefully I will go when it gets warmer. If you do find anything magic in the area can you let me know, I have been going through magic withdrawl.

Re: Dancing with the WHA?????

You are telling me, you aren't the least bit curious to see Penn, a very tall, broad shouldered kind of guy, move around the dance floor? I can't wait. Personnally I think he will need all the votes he can get. Nothing about Penn seems graceful to me. I do wonder what made him agree to do the show. ...
