Performing for Elders?

Although we talk nearly every week, I hadn't seen my Mom in person for a few months (I missed Christmas due to COVID). She was the person who drove me every week to the B & H School of Magic and always wants me to show her some magic when I visit. I gladly put together a small set and was lookin...

Re: AMA / Magic Castle issues

On 2/4/24, we received the following email from Magic Castle Enterprises. I was not going to post this, but in the last sentence of the email, Erika L. says they do not have access to all of the members emails and would like this email passed along. After careful consideration, I think this issue is...

Question about Masuda Wow Gimmick

All: Somehow I missed the Wow craze when it all started, but a couple of the gimmicks ended up on my desk. Question: is it possible to remove the moving part of the Wow gimmick from the sleeve without damaging the gimmick? (I was playing around with ideas about a possible use for an ungimmicked fold...

Magic in Hawaii?

All: At long last (> 30 years), my family and I will be finally able to visit Hawaii this Summer. I was wondering if any of you had any recommendations of magic to see in the islands. (We will be on a boat and spending about 24 hours at each island). I know that Warren and Annabelle's is sadly gone ...

Pattrick stands behind his products

I've purchased a lot of unsatisfactory stuff over the years: gimmicks that broke soon after arrival, expensive coin gaff sets that didn't match, books that didn't include promised features or were apparently rough drafts, subscriptions that never got completely fulfilled, etc. However, I have never ...

Re: Harry Lorayne in NY Times Magazine feature

Thank you, Mr. Cohen, for pointing out that NY Times article. My favorite quotation from the piece is: “We are all, each and every one of us, completely and irrevocably alone,” Lorayne wrote. But he had stumbled on a way to “relieve that loneliness just a bit.” The key was to look outward, with a wi...
