It sounds like the cashier's focus was diverted when Williamson offered a bet that would allow him to escape paying for part of his bill.

From that point on, her focus may well have been entirely on her register not coming up short of its expected cash total, which depended on her not being tricked.

What was provided to my company was not in individual issues, but in volumes, which makes it a lot more work for them to break it up and create the archive. At this point they've been working on it for three or four months and it's still not done! I participated in the project to break volumes into...

The April 1997 issue with Max's history of FISM was a major landmark in my experience. It filled in a lot of the magic landscape for me.

Similarly, Steve Bryant's Little Egypt Gazette (and Hank Lee's Book Book) filled in a lot of the magic literature landscape for me at that time as well.

Penguin decides what will be reprinted, and the only books they will reprint are (presumably) those for which there is a proven market. In college I taught a friend to juggle. He was inebriated at the time.

Afterwards it turned out that he was consistently a better juggler inebriated than sober.

Nobody's mentioned Magic Camp (2012) -- easily among my favorite magic documentaries. It's full of joy and creativity, with some pain and struggle, fairness and unfairness. It's very human, and it's a delight.
