ZANADU magic trick kits

I am going by memory but it seems like in the late 70's Zanadu advertised (in Magic Magazine at public newsstand) magic trick kits you could buy, assemble, and paint yourself (to save money). I know they also manufactured smaller pocket tricks and even had a course in magic. Does anyone collect Zana...

Re: Fortune Teller Miracle Fish

ebay just had a Huckleberry Hound and a Yogi Bear version listed I never seen before ($10 + shipping), the ones I remember in the 70's had a waxed paper envelope but the fish looked the same. I agree it is a great give away

Re: Go Best Express Shuttle for St. Louis IBM/SAM

If you want to take a break from all the magic and you are a motorcycle enthusiast, I would recommend the "Moto Museum" on Olive street at Lindell. http://www.themotomuseum.com/ I believe it is still free and open to the public. While you are there go across the street to Pappy's Smoke Hou...

Re: History of St. Louis Magicians: & more...

Devoe's magic den was a great magic shop but I have to admit when I first started going there as a kid I did not feel welcomed. I was new, had a lot of questions and very little money, not a good combo. When Gene saw I was serious about magic things changed, not only did I feel welcomed but he took ...

Dean Martin doing card sleights?

While listening to some Dean Martin songs on youtube I came across this particular song (your cheatin' heart) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGAVOW-O5RA in which he does a few card flourishes at the end. Re: Magic shops in St. Louis?

There are three magic shops in St. Louis, they include Gibbols (mostly novelties), Ickle Pickle (Steve Bender), and Widdershins. Here is a link for magic in St. Louis http://magicstl.com/

Re: Shipping charges

Weight is not the only factor when determining shipping charges. You have things like over size and odd shapes parcels. I lost money on shipping some large posters because I mistakenly went on weight instead of length. I know there are exceptions but I believe in general the more something cost the ...

Re: STGE & CO . What all did they manufacture ?

I do not have any information about Stge & Co. but the rabbits are very similar to the ones the old B.C. Magic Co. out of St. Louis had. The B.C. set used diagonal painted covers like yours but I believe their color scheme was black and white, the bases may have been different (thicker angle cut...

Re: Ron Allesi Auction

I was curious to know how the auction went? Any good buys? Did Ron sell everything or did he keep a few goodies?

I wanted to go but did not want to go alone and could not find anyone going in my area.
