Vernon and Houdini
couple of questions regarding the night Vernon "fooled" Houdini
What year was it?
Was this the first time Vernon and Houdini met?
Who introduced them?
How many times did Vernon perform "the trick"?
Thanks

Re: Performance Observation
I performed a multi-phased Okito box routine last week for a couple of eight year old kids. They sat through it all, reacted big, and asked if I could perform it again

what is it with the paint issue? Mine are staring to chip as well.
first off, this is a common issue...how do we solve it; touch ups? what type of paint? etc
second: why hasnt Mr. Onosaka resolve this issue with his manufacturer....

The Fred Kaps example hits it right on the head.
That being said, it still confuses me how someone as talented as Gary Kurtz could stop creating original material. My guess is that he still is, but only in private.

It isn't so much "magician's", but a certain pushiness, and as Dustin mentioned, an attitude of "entitlement" that most amateurs/fans seem to exude. Im sure most of us remember the SNL skit with William Shatner telling the obsessed Trekkie to "get a life" I think it's k...

That is the set you will need for the Roth routines. It is very versatile. Im not sure if they produce a matching "Plug" box for the Roth Set. Check with Daytona Magic for the Plug Box if you ever need one. They manufacture special orders.
Good luck with the Roth material.

Re: Cylinder & Coins
Yes, the routine can easily be modified if one wanted to perform it stand up.
The down side to earning a living as strolling magician is you rarely get to perform seated. And if you're not performing something consistently, it tends to fall by the wayside. Which is a shame.

Re: Cylinder & Coins
I learned Roth's routine way back in the day. If I remember correctly, he reproduces the four coins out of edge grip at the end of the routine.
I could be wrong, but I remember this being a seated routine, which probably explains why I never got to perform it live.
Definitely worth studying.

I was in an antique shop in Queens, New York and came across two framed silhouettes of a man and a woman. They were old. The owner had no info on them. Because they were framed I couldn't see the back. They were out of my price range so not knowing if they were Vernon's, I couldn't just plunk down t...
