Also, if you can, check out Walton material. He has the preternatural ability to do so much with so little. A big focus of his is the pass (in several forms--turnover, riffle, cover, classic).

Now, that being said (apologies to Larry David), I let the Invisible Palm fall by the wayside because I wasn't a fan of the repetition of method. I was successful with the routine, but I was never...

If I am remembering this correctly, I believe Malini would palm the card under the guise of saying something to the effect of, "See, my hands don't even cover the cards completely."

I'm curious as to how many intelligent, discerning adults were actually interested in, and furthermore watched, the videos.
Also, the exposure of sleightslike pinky breaks, false shuffles, etc means absolutely nothing.

The one that immediately comes to mind for me is a Meir Yedid card production from (I think) Cardworks, where the cards shoots out from the deck. It's quite easy, and fun to use as a secret maneuver as well as an open one.
There are others, I'm sure...

Allerton's "Magnetic Thought" crediting

Hey guys, I'm trying to remember where I can find this trick and what it's called. I believe it's in Pabular, and I know it's by Mr. Walton... I think the key phrase in Mr Helvia's post is "difficult to do well."
I've only seen video of Mr. Lucero performance, but he performs it very well, and makes the effect clearer than it would be in lesser hands.

Flynn, While the Dingle book is a fantastic must-have for any magician (and his think-a-card method very good), if you're basing your decision on think-a-card alone, your better bet will be Roger's Thesaurus. Besides being an amazing book with excellent material, the chapter on Think-a-Card is hands...

You know, after watching this video again, it really seems that everyone is entertained and impressed. The spectator at the table is a little dull, but I think this is probably just his countenance (and his haircut). The audience reaction is fairly enthused. One problem seems to be Slydini's accent ...

While I agree with you, Richard, that magic can be completely compressed and un-deceptified by video, I do think this particular performance looks great. If I didn't know the workings, I think I'd be fooled (at least for a moment). But that's just my opinion.

I'm intrigued by the fact that Joe calls the Helicopter card undeceptive. While this thread deals more with the aspects of presentation of the effect, I must argue that it is entirely deceptive. I am not familiar with Lorayne's version. Is it a variation of the stop trick in ECT? I do enjoy performing the trick in the spectator's hands, so the Lorayne version would be of interest. Going back to Giobbi, he has some fine psychological points in dealing with the trick in the person's hands rat...
