Re: Mad as Hell and Not Taking It Anymore
I'd rather learn from a newbie who will take the time to show me than try and learn from some grumpy old bastard who thinks he knows it all and won't tell you squat because you don't have an IBM ring on your finger. After all, the value of anything is relative to the person who buys it, and if I can...

Good question. An additional question is why is he using a pyramid scheme to sell magic? Claiming people can make over $100,000 in a few months by selling his program.

Re: loading a coin under a specator's watch
David Stone performed this on me, which worked out well for him, because I knew the routine he was doing, was watching him like a hawk, never saw what I was looking for, and he said "There, it's gone". I knew it wasn't because I was watching way too close for that to have happened. He told...

Re: Mad as Hell and Not Taking It Anymore
It has nothing to do with skill. I have a pile of lecture notes by highly skilled magicians that aren't worth the paper they are written on. I saw someone lecture and they were brilliant. Their moves and timing were perfect, and I sat through 2 lectures (different material) and a workshop. EXCELLENT...

Who cares? It's all relative to YOUR skill level. Yes, someone doing something from Expert Card Technique slightly different might offend you, if you had studied the book. In my opinion, one of the biggest problems with magicians is the fact that they have tunnelvision and think every other magician...

Re: Sol Stone: QUICK & CASUAL CLOSE-UP video
Yes, I have the Sol Stone DVD. I can say that I was very disappointed. Not in Sol Stone, but in the production of the video footage. The issues I have are the following: The camera angles are horrible. In the performance footage, the viewpoint is off to the side, so you don't ever see the retention ...

Using real names is not condusive to creativity. I do use my real name (part of it). I'd give you the whole thing if I thought you would recognize it because I was some master of magic (which I'm not). There are many issues that need to be discussed that cannot be brought up by people using their re...

Laymen. With my Johnson boxes, the lid is proportional to the box, the Zee's aren't. Therefore, when they look at it, I get "There's something funny with that lid". Another thing I don't like it the difference in diameters. The box is large enough to make the click pass (I think that's wha...

At risk of being drawn and quartered, I have a set of the Zee boxes and don't like the lid. I fully understand the reasoning, and I can say that if I used them every day, 1000 times a year, I probably would use them as you don't have any "issues" when using them. However, I can't get past ...

Who were the best new magicians in 2001?
Just wondering which stars shined the brightest in 2001 in the magic world. Thinking back on 2001, I don't recall seeing anyone (didn't see many people, in all fairness) that made me sit up and take notice. The established magicians were out there, but who was making a name for themself in 2001 that...

I know I'm new to magic, but from what I have learned (I think) so far, is that if someone is asking to see the cards, then you didn't convince them early on in the trick. Shouldn't all doubt be removed, so there is no explanation, because they KNOW they have seen normal cards? If, at the end of a c...
