Re: Martin A. Nash Has Passed Away

I saw him sitting alone in the hotel restaurant early in the morning and did something I normally wouldn't do-I approached him and asked him if I could sit with him. He didn't hesitate to let me - a complete...

Re: Are Magic Shops Obsolete?

Martinelz Magic Mart was where I really became interested in Magic. Martin and his Wife, Maria, treated me like family for quite a few years, and I even used to occasionally watch the shop when they had a show booked. I really miss the shop, but even more, I miss the owners.

O.K. - I'll mention it. As a fan of the classic Championship Wrestling From Florida with the legendary Gordon Solie, I recognize Harley Race as "The King Of Wrestling"!
"So long from the sunshine state."

Joe, I also have Ricardo's Card Artifice" & "Ricardo's Intimate Secrets of Card Classics & Fantastic Gems of Close-up Magic". I recall buying a gimmicked card stab effect from him also. I agree some great material was in the books. I was just wondering what he was like in pers...

Frank Pemper

I'm curious if any of you have any information on Frank Pemper. He wrote some card magic books quite awhile ago. I recall his writing style was very unusual and was wondering whatever happened to him, etc.

Re: Quality of Bicycle cards

Joe,
I believe cards that vary in thickness, could create an interesting challange for cardmen who do estimation. Most of us don't do enough of this type of work to have it affect us.

Re: effect

I don't have my copy handy, but I believe a solution can be found in Ed Marlo's "Estimation" booklet.

Most rude talk show hosts

Who would you pick as being the most rude talk show hosts of all time, at least as far as magic guests? My hands down winner would be Tom Snyder of Tomorrow fame. I've seen him try to grab the deck right out of a performers hand, amongst many other really rude behaviors. In second place would be Dav...

Try tapping the bottom edge of the deck against a hard surface, such as a table, before performing the force.
