Re: MagicPedia surpases 1,500 articles
Wow! Jonathan, I'm not sure if you've written anything for MagicPedia, but the site could definitely use someone with your knowledge and insight. I think that would be more productive than the tone and attitude you displayed in your above post.

David Acer's "Gotcha!"
In case anyone's interested, David Acer's first book for the public just came out (maybe timed for school starting, or possibly even Halloween), but the magic community may not know about it. GOTCHA! 18 AMAZING WAYS TO FREAK OUT YOUR FRIENDS is a collection of paranormal tricks, hoaxes and experimen...

Re: No Big Deal for Allan Slaight
So sorry. I just followed the link to the website provided by James and that Magicana is clearly a different entity with the same name.

Re: No Big Deal for Allan Slaight
I apologize if the answer to this is common knowledge, but I was confused when reading James's post - is the Magicana you're referring to different from the Magicana associated with Genii?

I always delete e-mails with no subject heading. A) They're probably SPAM, and B) It's the epitome of laziness.

New Trick Columnists?
I really enjoy all the regular columnists in Genii right now, but I'm wondering if there are any new "trick" columnists on the horizon (like Maven, Farmer, Acer, etc.). Michael Weber? Jerry Sadowitz? J.K. Hartman? Just curious...

I'd like to add the somewhat more contemporary but rarely talked about Fr. Cyprian to that list.

Re: Jerry Lewis Telethon
I didn't see any part of the Jerry Lewis Telethon, so I can't speak to the quality, hipness or hokeyness of either the Pendragons or Steve Dacri, but I will say this - it ticks me off when a guy comes on the Genii forum and starts ripping into other acts when he doesn't even have the gonads to use h...

I'll be interested to find out if it's possible to do that Francis Carlyle count with oversized bills.

Re: Sankey UNLEASHED
Okay, so it's been about 8 months since this thread was started, long enough for people to have bought the book. I'm curious to know what others think. Personally, I found a few things in there that I love - "Back In Time," "Leaving Home," "Firefly," "Secret Passag...

I loved the Andrus piece too (in fact, I thought he deserved the cover). But I have to say my most dog-eared Genii is the Jim Steinmeyer issue.

There is a "Top 100 Websites" list on www.allmagicguide.com
I don't know what their criteria is, but it's as good a place as any to start.

Re: Magic makers
A damn good question... I really enjoyed the Lovell DVDs (METHODS BEHIND THE MADNESS) and, more recently, the two-volume ROMAINE set (this man is a joy to watch). I suppose if people only purchase the Magic Makers products that aren't knock-offs, the market will drive them to produce solely original...

Ethical Issue with Paul Daniels
Did anyone else notice that Paul Daniels performs and teaches Jay Sankey's "Dough" (from 100% Sankey) on his recent DVD for beginners called "Mesmerizing Magic" without crediting Jay?
