Re: December Genii

Arrived in Melbourne, Oz today. This is the first time in a few years that I've had my copy before the start of the cover month. If Genii's distribution is going to be this punctual from now, it will have been worth the pain of the schmozzle with the August and September issues while PB got their ac...

Re: The Tarbell Course In Magic Volume 8

I believe volumes 1 through 6 were edited by Ralph Read, volume 7 by Harry Lorayne. Hi Richard For what it's worth, I've just remembered that Vol 6 was edited by Bruce Elliot. I guess Harry did Vol 7 as a result of Bruce's unfortunate accident and untimely demise. The complete series is a marvellou...

It is well worth the wait.

Many of the subscribers like me and those older than me don't see as well as we did when we were 21 I second that motion. Personally, I'm on the cusp as I can manage the b/w text without the readers, but need their aid for the features. I find those pages a treat to look at but hard to read without...

John T A Waters in the credits for his Trionic Deck (pp 84, 85, Mind, Myth and Magick ) traces the origin of the multi-bank deck back to Edward Bagshaw in 1924. He also includes a tantalising reference to something similar that may have been used by Hofzinser. There is much more there, including fur...

Edwin, Richard The only Trick Mark that I have, came with Gaffed To The Hilt! (2nd Ed) It's number two in the series and deals (appropriately in the context) with a modification by Jon Racherbaumer of the gimmick used in the routine "Another Departure" from French Pasteboards by Bernard Bi...

I waited a while on this one to see what was posted.

Swadling Swindle = gaffed coins. Harry Stanley had a talent for this sort of thing. ;)

Rink also has a cups and balls routine with a magnetic wand and a magnetic ball published. It may be in one of the volumes of The Art of Close Up Magic. Randi I don't think it is in Close Up Magic. Also, if you have access to Harry Stanley's 'The Gen' from the early 60's you may be able to find where Rink wrote up a coin routine using a magnetic wand. Naturally, he used a Dutch issue of coinage that was ferrous based. I understand some US and Canadian coins are also attracted by a magnet. Othe...

Me again. Heading towards seniors moment....

I meant to include that Darryl performs the effect standing over a table on the video. However, there is nothing stopping you from using the spectator's hand as per earlier posts.

I'll try not to be so quick on the trigger in future.

On one of the Fooler Dooler DVDs Darryl does DDLT using Brother Hamman's Gemini Count and a novel presentation. Re: YOUR HELP NEEDED ON THE GENII INDEX!

If just posted half a dozen from the late forties and early fifties. My collection from that time is not complete by any means, but it was interesting to trawl through these old issues again - much of interest. I'll keep them coming over the next few weeks. Thumbs of the covers are next. Regards Linds
