Re: Hugards encycopedia of card tricks
This is a great book. Along with Scarne on Card Tricks, it was one of the first few books I had when I was young. The impromptu chapter is wonderful and what makes these books great is that after you progress along with sleights, you return to add some sleight of hand back to some of the self-workin...

As usual, this was a great convention. I can't remember when all 3 evening were all good. The lectures were all good, the close-up show's were great. I think some become collectable's because of who authored them. When Ricky first published that book it was priced normally. As Ricky became better known and the public became more aware of his prowess and skill, the book is worth more. In years to come, Vernon, Marlo, Lorayne, will become harder an...

Sam, Revolutionary Card Technique is just a giant all-in-one-place reprint of the small pamphlets with the same name put out by Ed in the late 50's and early 60's. These small pamphlets are nothing more than chapters on sleights, for example, The Multiple Shift, Estimation, Seconds-Centers-bottoms, ...

I always thought that when you showed your hand empty after presumably making a coin vanish from that hand, that a kid's perspective is, "if it isn't in this hand, it must still be there"! But then, it may depend on the age of the kid. Younger children have not learned "how to be fool...

I know when I had mine done, the video guy told me that you can create them two ways. The on thing I have learned over the years, is that you find a brief that is comfortable for you and work with it. I mean really practice. Most false dealing is sold by rhythm of deal and not by how big the brief is (within reason). Most people will assume you are dealing off the top unless you tell...

Well, Marlo's book "The Cardician" came out in 1953. Don't know of any prior references to the term Cardician.
I think the term 'cardician' is applied to someone who is very adept with cards. Very adept in all facets with cards.
