Re: Magician on Britian's Got Talent
Greg created and built his incredible cage to girl (on a bare stage, away from all props) in 1994. One of it's first appearances was as the close to his act on my Canadian Tour Dec. 94/Jan.95. Not sure of the actual creation date of the Gemini Cage but it's also an excellent end to a dove routine. Y...

Re: Science Friction
Just watched Stephen Bargatze absolutely fry several magicians including some excellent card guys, using S.F. Thank (appropirate deity) that he let us in on the secret. We'll be ordering some.

Re: Breaking the Magician’s Code
David, it's even more difficult and expensive if the prop sold in a different country as is my case. It was built in the US, owned and performed for a decade by a Canadian and sold back into the US. Litigation would be impossibly expensive. The sad thing is that it was one thing with a the original ...

Re: Breaking the Magician’s Code
Sadly the producers and/or magicians involved with this show appear to be somewhat savy to the procurement of props. I was shocked to see that the DeKolta Chair Vanish that they exposed was a one of a kind custom prop that I had built by Steve Keeler back in 1994. I sold it a few months ago on Magic...

Hi Mike, Thanks for the kind words. It was amazing to win this honor and I'm thrilled beyond words. Incidentally congratulations to you as well for your Achievement Award for creating the Sorcerers Summer Safari. You are doing amazing work - molding the next generation of magicians in Canada. GOOD W...

What would you do?
With all the recent posts regarding exposure I wanted to see what you all think of this. Recently I was invited to showcase at a conference of entertainment buyers. This is an annual conference and showcases 15 - 20 different performers or groups for the potential buyers. I was the only magician sel...

Re: Illusionplans
Plans for Origami are not available. Rights must be paid and there are only two authorized builders of the illusion - John Gaughan and Wellington. Twister, on the other hand, is available from any number of builders and thus can be found at a fairly reasonable price. There are no professional plans ...

Re: Christopher Hart
As Chris Morrison mentioned Chris Hart spent the last two months touring Canada with my annual show. He was in fine form - even adding in some new patter material. Following the tour he had only four days at home and now is in Vegas for a six week contract with Kevin.

Re: Cruise work
Hi David,
While I've heard a few times since 9-11 that some lines have dropped their rates, it's my understanding that they brought them back up. I've done several cruises in the last while - in fact I'm on one now and the rates are comparable to pre-911, war and SARS.

Re: Remote Control Milk Lamp
Hi again Carl,
Just after sending the last note I looked elsewhere in the forum and noticed the thread about Billy Diamond and Extreme Reality Illusions. Billy was the builder of the prop and I checked his site and he's still selling them.
Sorry Billy for forgetting your name...

Re: Remote Control Milk Lamp
Hi Carl, Sorry but I've totally forgotten the name of the builder. It was a new company that put it out about two years ago as a remote control Milk in Lightbulb that packed down into a small package. It was a good unit but with the one thing I dislike about almost every M.I.L. The bulb had the hole...

Pete,
Bravo! Having used the effect in many performances this never even occurred to me. Thank-you.

Re: Adult Volunteers
One thing that I've found effective is to do an effect early in the show where I ask for the help of an audience member but tell them they can remain in their seat. Generally once they know they can stay in their chair they have no problem helping. The routine I do is one that is fun and funny but n...
