Let me just say I am aware of the reasons for drawing the conclusion that you and others and this forum ultimately have. And for precluding any other possibility. The other possibility is embarrassing. And espousing it makes enemies. It's bad for business. People in glass houses mustn't throw stone...

"Bold" is right....in particular I would not feel so confident at all about the spectator's reactions... Public speaking is at the top of lists over what people are afraid of. The spectators are out of their elements, disoriented by stage lights, acutely aware that hundreds of people are ...

The number you hear is not the number he said. Watch his lips. Indeed.... he said "Seventeen", and the voice over said "Forty-seven"... and the man had a quick sudden reaction after hearing. Yeah, it's that simple, an audio trick. Wouldn't call it "simple". I have been...

Looks like an Al Baker idea to me (p. 57, Mental Magic), although used in a more clever way. No instant stooges, but I suspect one of the spectators was a bit puzzled.

I’m doing some research on the comedy bit where a helper chooses a card from a jumbo deck and after some byplay the magician has her return the card to a regular sized deck. This act is “this seasons” presentation of a Martin hart act. The rules of the show (no stooges, no preshow) are absolute and wouldn’t be broken. Martin is also a student / promoter of the Bergas legacy which tips the likely methods to most of what he does. Martin hires a female performer (typicall...

"Stalker" playing in New York
My friends Peter Brynolf and Jonas Ljung recently brought their show "Stalker" to New World Stages in New York, where it is produced by Penn and Teller. It premiered on April 1, and it seems it is well received, judging by the review in Wall Street Journal (behind paywall, unfortunately): ...
