Re: FISM 2022 Day Three
Magic is the exact opposite of abstract. In order to do things impossible one must always be rooted in reality/objectivism. From wikipedia "Abstraction indicates a departure from reality" so while magics props might START in reality, (as most things do), by nature it makes normal things d...

aving Said that, my favorite act was by Noah. I’ve long observed magic is the only art to never go through an abstract period - and likely won’t because of its inherent objectivist nature.
I think this is because magic is fundamentally already abstract and surreal on it's own a lot of the times.

Re: FISM 2022 Day Three
I have always thought that originality was over rated. Sometimes it is useful but it really isn't a big deal. The only thing that NEEDS to be original is your personality. Originality is largely misunderstood. It isn't an end goal in itself. When people aim for originality, it often become unconvin...

If that was in May, it looks like it was filmed at MAGIC Live? Yes, May 19, the day after Magic Live ended. Btw, 8 days ago International Magicians Society put up a new video on Youtube. An amazing illusion... all you need are eggs, chickens, two stooges and a tad too little knowledge of how to mas...

Its a problem facing magic all-round as we would soon discover. Has magic really not progressed in 20+ years ? Where is the innovation and excitement that we are so desperately hankering after. It's because so many people have a norrow minded view of what magic is and those people are in charge of ...

We are working on a project and there was an article in an olg genii mag about a zombie ball hookup which had the gimmick plug into a tube of some sort and suspend off your tuxedo. Does anyone have an idea who that was or what issue? Thanx.

I like the fact "weirder" magic is becoming into the public eye. Might make my job easier.
As for the "No camera tricks etc etc" disclaimer.. the reason they don't use that stuff on shows like Blaine and Angel is simple. They would be lying.

I prefer two methods depending on the show. I always hated the stack switch so I created a switch that leaves the blades on display sperated even after the switch. Assuming the master move is the flip move not the pass (I havn't seen the video in some time.) the way to rpevent flashing is making sure you turn the board RIGHT where the thumb meets the hand, right in that crook. It hides everything if done right.
