What about people who have only just subscribed to Genii - as in within the last month?
Do we need to send in our email address as well, or is it taken from the subscription details?

Re: International Convention
Richard,
There are a few names, but until they are confirmed nothing more can be said... These are the two that Noel released from stage.
Also - I meant the Berglas award for promoting Magic... not as I wrote "for promoting Berglas". It's been a long week.

But will the Southern convention have "Flower Arranging" and "Jam & preserve making" for the ladies to attend whilst their husbands are attending lectures on magic stuff?

Re: Why You Should Subscribe to Genii if You Want Us To Stay in Business
Mrgoat, I'm working on a print cost per copy of about 0.98 for a 72pp full color A4 magazine. Add to that a cost of about 0.65 for postage and wrap. so not too bad purchase-wise. Also we pay a slight premium for alcohol-free inks and sustainable paper, but it's in line with our ethic. As to being le...

Re: Why You Should Subscribe to Genii if You Want Us To Stay in Business
We make no money from copies sold in shops because we are forced to sell them at 50% off retail because that's what MAGIC charges. So with a print run of 6,000 plus, the printing cost per issue is $3 each? Just curious. I would imagine that is about the cost per copy to print, pack and distribute, ...

Re: Discussing a Disgusting Habit—Cigarettes and Magic
I suppose it depends on where you work... And the audience you work to. I work to a lot of "Rock" audiences, many of whom smoke. I've often met a number of them whilst outside having a smoke before my set/act. Having suffered a public venue smoking ban in the UK for the last year, I always...

Re: Remember any magazine page...
Thanks to all for their replies - I've just spent the weekend with Jeff McBride and he is now doing this in his act. Just brutal momory, no cribs or anything else. takes about 45 mins to learn the week's issue. From looking at the Barrie Richardson book, I'd say this is the groundwork for the piece....

Remember any magazine page...
Hi, I was recently looking about on one of those random web crawls, and came across an effect where you can (seeminly) remember any page from a magazine called out by an audience member. If I recall correctly any magazine can be used, including the company's promotional literature.... Stupid thing I...

Docc Hilford - Trying to Contact
Hi, I'm trying to contact Docc Hilford on behalf of Richard Webster. Richard is in the UK at present, and wants to meet up with Docc in London when he arrives here, before the Tyneside convention. Unfortunately Richard has no email access on his book tour, so I'm doing the go-between thing....but......

I agree that whilst he wrote little of it, it is definately written at his request. I had a few discussions with Martin MacMillan about it, and he said it's been mooted for a while, but finally get done last year. So, Yes, Tony Corinda is still with us, happily playing chess in his local pub. As a s...

Re: 13 Steps Supplement
Hi, I have a copy of the supplement in front of me. It's 20 pages long, and the first 13 pages are a "history of Corinda & the 13 Steps" by Roy Sinclair. The other 9 pages list other effects, books etc by Corinda, and also a review of the Seance he did at the circle in 1958. By far the...

I asked Betty about this a few years back. They had a lot of "stuff" in storage which was destroyed. They wearehoused it in Bermondsey, and due to sheer weight of the items, things were crushed, and they couldn't take time to sort it out. She thinks that the book manuscript was there, and ...
